The actual CLI command superskill skill add <source> installs an existing skill; it does
not scaffold one. Packaging, migration, and installation are separate operations in
workflows.md. Preserve explicit arguments and operation boundaries:
evaluation leaves the target unchanged, and a requested dry run does not apply semantic edits.
Start with the target and evidence
- Resolve the source of truth, applicable instruction hierarchy, requested outcome, and intended hosts/models. Read the skill, relevant references/assets/scripts, existing callers, and known failures before editing. Inspect the installed artifact when the problem occurs after install.
- Identify what the skill contributes: missing capability, project knowledge, operator preferences, or an ordered process. Record observable acceptance criteria and constraints from the request and existing project policy. Reuse available context; ask only for material missing information.
- Follow the requested operation in workflows.md. Use leaf
--helpfor exact CLI options and live target guidance before selecting a target. Use the host's available tools; do not invent native invocation APIs or assume a shell namedBash. - Verify proportionately using evaluation-framework.md. Distinguish structural checks, semantic review, native host checks, and measured behavior. Report what ran, what changed, failures, and untested claims.
What ships with it
19 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
