agent-create

agent-create is a skill for Claude Code from GoogilyBoogily/googilyboogily-claude-power-tools. It costs 43 tokens per session (2,147 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for creating a new Claude Code agent or subagent, an AI helper focused on a particular technical area. It researches related agents and relevant documentation before producing the agent file.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create project, personal, or plugin-based agents for areas such as testing, TypeScript, or database performance.
Why use it?
It helps define the agent's expertise, routing connections, and activation behavior in a consistent format.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00043 $0.02147
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.01073
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00429
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00215

Security

Grade A, and why

agent-create scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 248 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Agent Creation

Author a new Claude Code agent/subagent through domain expert principles, routing mesh analysis, and official documentation consultation. Produces a complete agent .md file with proper frontmatter, routing mesh, and domain expertise encoding.

Input

$ARGUMENTS — an agent name or domain description, and optionally a location flag:

  • --project — create in .claude/agents/ (shared with team)
  • --user — create in ~/.claude/agents/ (personal, all projects)
  • --plugin <name> — create in a plugin's agents/ directory

Parse Arguments

Extract from $ARGUMENTS:

  • Name/Description: The non-flag text
  • Location Flag: --project, --user, or --plugin <name>

If no location flag is provided, ask the user in Phase 1.

Source Integrity Rules

Every design decision must be traceable to user answers, codebase research, or official documentation.

Process

Phase 1: Domain Identification

  1. If only a name was provided, ask what domain this agent covers.

  2. Identify the domain:

    • Domain name: The expertise area (e.g., "typescript", "testing", "database-performance")
    • Sub-domain (optional): Specific area within a broader domain (e.g., "typescript-type" under "typescript")
    • Hierarchical placement: Is this a broad domain expert or a sub-domain specialist?
  3. Apply the Domain Expert Validation:

    • Coverage test: Can the user identify 5-15 related problems this agent handles? If fewer than 5, suggest a skill instead. If more than 15, suggest splitting into broad + specialist pair.
    • Resume test: Would someone put "[domain] Expert" on their resume? If no, the scope is too narrow.
    • Value test: Would a developer pay $5/month for this expertise? If no, the knowledge may be too trivial to warrant an agent.
  4. If no location flag provided, ask using AskUserQuestion:

    • Project level (.claude/agents/) — shared with team
    • User level (~/.claude/agents/) — personal
    • Plugin (plugins/<name>/agents/) — distributable

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
