slides.write_vc_pitch

slides.write_vc_pitch is a skill for Claude Code from gpsaggese/helpers. It costs 14 tokens per session (5,649 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A venture capital pitch deck writer that produces 10–15 slides in SMD format. A venture capital, or VC, deck is a short presentation used to explain a company to potential investors.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to draft an investment pitch for a startup, including its market opportunity and go-to-market plan.
Why use it?
It gives a company description a fixed investor-focused structure instead of a general presentation. It covers the problem, solution, market, and plan for reaching customers.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00014 $0.05649
Opus 5.5 $0.00006 $0.02260

Security

Grade A, and why

slides.write_vc_pitch scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 479 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Goal

  • Given a company description, write a venture capital (VC) pitch deck of 10-15 slides in smd format
  • The deck covers at least: the problem, the solution, the addressable market, and the go-to-market plan
  • Write an investment pitch, not a lecture. Follow ## Pitch Style
  • Follow .claude/skills/slides.rules.md, except where # Conventions overrides it (tags, sections, Roadmap, Summary, References)
  • Follow the slide syntax in .claude/templates/slides.template.md

Workflow

Role

  • Act as a startup founder who pitched seed and Series A investors, and as a VC partner who has read thousands of decks
  • The audience is a VC investment committee: technical, financial, short on time, and skeptical
    • Each slide answers one investor question in under 30 seconds of reading

Input

  • The user provides:
    • A company description, notes, or a file <TOPIC>. Read the file if given
      • If there is no company description, ask the user once, then stop
    • (Optional) <COMPANY>: company name
      • Default: NewCo, with a TODO to replace the working name
    • (Optional) <FOUNDERS>: founder names
    • (Optional) <ROUND>: funding round, e.g., Seed, Series A
    • (Optional) <ASK>: amount raised
    • (Optional) <NUM_SLIDES>: number of slides, from 10 to 15
      • Default: <NUM_SLIDES> = 13. Outside 10-15, use the closest bound
    • (Optional) <LOGO_PATH>: logo path relative to the repo root
      • Default: a placeholder logo (see ## Add Logo)
  • Use only facts present in the input
    • Do not invent market sizes, revenue, customers, growth rates, or biographies
    • For each missing fact, write a placeholder and a TODO (see ## Flag Doubts and ## Placeholders and Special Characters)

Plan Deck

  • Write a one-line pitch <TAGLINE> of at most 15 words: the customer, the pain, and the outcome
    • E.g., Cut month-end close from 10 days to 2 for mid-size finance teams
  • Select slides by priority until the count equals <NUM_SLIDES>
    • The count includes * <COMPANY> at a Glance and * Why Invest in <COMPANY>, and excludes * Sources
  • Always keep these 10 slides, the minimum deck
    • * <COMPANY> at a Glance
    • Problem slide
    • Solution slide
    • Market slide: TAM, SAM, SOM
    • Go-to-market slide
    • Competition slide
    • Business model slide
    • Team slide
    • Ask slide
    • * Why Invest in <COMPANY>
  • While the count is below <NUM_SLIDES>, add these slides, in this order
    • Traction slide
    • Product slide: how it works, with a diagram
    • Why-now slide: the trend that makes the company possible today
    • Existing-alternatives slide: how customers solve the problem today
    • Financials slide: unit economics and a 3-year revenue path
  • Keep the order from ## Deck Structure, whichever slides are selected

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
