ras-commander: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/ras-commander-contributing/SKILL.md

ras-commander-contributing is a skill for Claude Code from gpt-cmdr/ras-commander. It costs 84 tokens per session (1,423 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A contribution workflow for suspected defects or missing features in the RAS Commander, HMS Commander, and related MCP server projects. It protects the user's work, classifies the problem, and prepares a maintainer pull request or an external issue or pull request.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when documented behavior is wrong, supported input fails, or a regression appears. It records the failure details and can contribute a fix or report without merging, releasing, or publishing.
Why use it?
It prevents a library problem from being hidden by changes to the user's project or dependency versions and gives the problem a documented path to resolution.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00084 $0.01423
Opus 5.5 $0.00034 $0.00569
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00017 $0.00285
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00142

Measured 22d ago against content hash e48083f569c9, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

ras-commander-contributing scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 22d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

RAS Commander contributing

Project policy: when a maintainer's agent finds a defect, it fixes the defect and opens a pull request (PR) right away. An external user may submit an issue or a PR. A feature request is proposed only when it passes the API consistency criteria.

This workflow covers gpt-cmdr/ras-commander, gpt-cmdr/hms-commander, gpt-cmdr/ras-commander-mcp, and gpt-cmdr/hms-commander-mcp. It never merges, tags, releases, or publishes a package.

1. Protect the user's task

Stop at the failing step and preserve the user's inputs and outputs. Do not edit the user's project, environment, or dependency pins to work around a library defect unless the user agrees. Record the call, sanitized arguments, traceback, engine version, and the package versions from the version snippet.

2. Classify the problem

Class Indicators Action
Defect A public API, MCP tool, or packaged skill contradicts its docstring, schema, or documented behavior; crashes on valid supported input; or regresses from an earlier release Contribute a fix or a bug report
User or environment error Wrong path or input, unsupported engine version, missing extra or engine, or a release older than the fix Explain the correction; no report. A misleading error message is itself a defect
Unsupported scope The request is outside a documented contract. Example: spatial, gridded, geometry, edit, or execution requests to a project MCP server Route to the public Python API or explain the limit. This is not a bug
Feature gap A reusable capability is absent from a supported workflow Evaluate against the API consistency criteria

Before calling something a defect, check the latest release and main, and search existing issues (gh issue list --repo gpt-cmdr/<repo> --search "<terms>"). If an issue exists, add new evidence there instead of opening a duplicate.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
