elizaos-knowledge-workflows

elizaos-knowledge-workflows is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from greedychipmunk/agent-skills. It costs 79 tokens per session (1,143 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for putting approved documents into an elizaOS knowledge system and retrieving relevant passages. RAG, or retrieval-augmented generation, means finding source passages first and using them to support an answer.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to import approved documents, troubleshoot missing or poor retrieval, verify citations and access boundaries, and evaluate or migrate document embeddings.
Why use it?
It helps prevent irrelevant or unauthorised documents from entering a knowledge collection and keeps source evidence separate from generated answers. It also addresses tenant isolation, citations, and embedding changes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00079 $0.01143
Opus 5.5 $0.00032 $0.00457
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00229
Haiku 4.5 $0.00008 $0.00114

Security

Grade A, and why

elizaos-knowledge-workflows scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

elizaOS Knowledge Workflows

Operate an approved knowledge corpus, not an unrestricted filesystem crawler. Keep source evidence separate from generated answers and retrieval relevance separate from authorization.

Establish the version and authority first

  • Record installed host, core, document/knowledge service, model provider and database adapter versions from approved manifests or lockfiles. Do not install or start upstream software just to inspect it.
  • Use the bounded baseline: elizaOS develop at eb9a6f7d3ccc46d3ff9d173383cff900004738c9, root 2.0.4, @elizaos/core 2.0.3-beta.7. These are not interchangeable version numbers.
  • Read sources and documentation differences before choosing an API. Pinned types prove contracts, not deployed enforcement. Public plugin-knowledge docs are conceptual leads, not a compatible recipe.
  • Identify the corpus owner, allowed sources, recipients/tenant, retention, deletion requirements and approved processing destinations. Obtain separate authorization for uploads, paid embedding calls, sharing and destructive work.
  • Use elizaos-character-builder for persona/character work, elizaos-plugin-developer for component authoring, and elizaos-runtime-diagnostics for boot/backend recovery. Do not recreate those workflows here.

Choose the workflow

Request Read next Required result
Import/update documents Ingestion and provenance Approved manifest, verified extracted text, complete revision
Search, cite, or share across rooms/tenants Retrieval and access Authorized ranked evidence and denied-access checks
Change embedding model/provider/dimension Embedding changes Compatible vector space, complete backfill, rollback plan
Measure or repair retrieval quality Retrieval evaluation Reproducible baseline and labeled comparison

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

elizaos-knowledge-workflows is a skill published in the GitHub repository greedychipmunk/agent-skills (22 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 79 tokens to every session and 1,143 once invoked, about $0.0003 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-16.
