go-authcrunch: Skill for Codex

.codex/skills/authentication-portal-cookies/SKILL.md

authentication-portal-cookies is a skill for Codex from greenpau/go-authcrunch. It costs 45 tokens per session (3,381 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of backend security instructions for configuring portal cookies, the small pieces of data browsers send back to a website. It covers shared names, prefixes, domain settings, and issuing or deleting cookies.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to parse cookie directives, configure portal cookie names and attributes, and keep cookies interoperable with OIDC, OAuth, refresh tokens, and access gatekeepers.
Why use it?
It prevents different authentication methods from using conflicting cookie rules. It also validates configuration before applying it, leaving the portal unchanged when configuration fails.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: agents/openai.yaml present.

This is greenpau/go-authcrunch's own configuration. It tells Codex how to work on go-authcrunch itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything go-authcrunch configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is make test TEST_DIR='./pkg/authn/cookie/... ./pkg/authn ./pkg/authz ./pkg/idp/oauth/parser' TEST='Cookie|TestFactory|TestPortalConfigureCookies|TestE2EOIDCProvid.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00045 $0.03381
Opus 5.5 $0.00018 $0.01352
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00676
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00338

Measured 12d ago against content hash dd06793555ec, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

authentication-portal-cookies scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Authentication Portal Cookies

Ownership and Configuration

pkg/authn/cookie.Config and Factory own shared cookie names and attributes. configuration.go owns validation, cloning, the complete role list, and prefix changes. cookie_config.go owns the public suffix constants and defaults. OIDC and opaque refresh transports retain their own security and lifetime rules. The SAML browser-binding cookie retains its fixed cross-site callback security and five-minute lifetime independently of common attributes.

pkg/authn/cookie/parser.NewCookieConfigFromDirectives(statements []string) accepts complete cookie ... statements encoded with cfgutil.EncodeArgs, decodes them with cfgutil.DecodeArgs, and returns a validated *cookie.Config. Empty input returns ordinary defaults. Use (*authn.PortalConfig).ConfigureCookies(config) before runtime construction to install an independent snapshot. It replaces the complete cookie configuration, preserves unrelated portal settings, and leaves the portal unchanged on error. See directive grammar and application.

Names and Prefixes

Generated names use AUTHP_<SUFFIX> unless configuration specifies another prefix. Default...CookieName constants are suffixes, not complete names. Use cookie.NewConfig() or the effective factory fields when selecting a default; never issue or select bare SESSION_ID or ID_TOKEN as defaults.

NewConfig eagerly initializes every role. Assigning CookieNamePrefix directly is suitable only before default application on a fresh config literal. Use Config.SetCookieNamePrefix after initialization to update all omitted or previously defaulted names, including both OIDC names, without losing other overrides. Empty typed prefixes reset to AUTHP; empty directive values fail. An explicit name equal to the old default is indistinguishable from a generated name, so typed callers apply that override after changing the prefix. The parser applies the prefix before explicit names regardless of statement order.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
