go-authcrunch: Skill for Codex

.codex/skills/authentication-portal-oidc/SKILL.md

authentication-portal-oidc is a skill for Codex from greenpau/go-authcrunch. It costs 72 tokens per session (2,470 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A reusable OpenID Connect provider for a local authentication portal. OpenID Connect is a standard that lets an application prove a user's identity to another application using browser login, signed identity tokens, and public signing keys.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when implementing or changing OpenID Connect clients, discovery, PKCE login, consent pages, ID-token keys, UserInfo, revocation, or conformance tests.
Why use it?
It provides the portal-side pieces needed for client registration, browser login, consent, token verification, and key discovery without depending on the portal's internal runtime.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: agents/openai.yaml present.

This is greenpau/go-authcrunch's own configuration. It tells Codex how to work on go-authcrunch itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything go-authcrunch configures →

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is make test TEST_DIR='./ ./pkg/oidc ./pkg/authn ./internal/tag' TEST='OIDC|Provider|TestTagCompliance|TestStructTagCompliance' COVERAGE_DIR=.coverage/oidc.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00072 $0.02470
Opus 5 $0.00036 $0.01235
Sonnet 5 $0.00014 $0.00494
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00247

Security

Grade A, and why

authentication-portal-oidc scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Authentication Portal OpenID Provider

Ownership

pkg/oidc owns the reusable provider. Provider is an exported concrete type; OpenIDProvider is its public HTTP and browser-lifecycle interface. NewProvider validates and snapshots Config, requires an IdentityVerifier, and accepts runtime Options. The package has no dependency on the authn portal runtime.

  • config.go: public Config, ClientConfig, and validation.
  • provisioning.go: public client constructors, credential generation, Config.AddClient, and dedicated signing-key generation in PEM or a new file.
  • client_config_parser.go: NewClientConfigFromDirectives(nickname, statements) parses an OAuth application block body with the crypto-style cfg.DecodeArgs encoding. Caddy adapters collect statements using cfg.EncodeArgs.
  • identity.go: public Authentication, Identity, IdentityVerifier, and OpenIDProvider contracts.
  • options.go: construction, configurable login URL, cookie names, and excluded signing keys; provider.go: bounded sessions, consent, and browser lifecycle.
  • keys.go: dedicated RSA PEM loading, thumbprints, public JWKS, signing, hints.
  • http.go: public ServeHTTP, HandleHTTP, ValidateLoginRequest, and Discovery, guarded issuer routing, parsing, CORS, and buffered responses.
  • authorization.go, request_object.go, token.go: code/PKCE, consent, unsigned Request Objects, client authentication, UserInfo, and revocation.

pkg/authn/oidc_runtime.go supplies portalOIDCIdentityVerifier, local-realm validation, key/cookie isolation, and sandbox/browser adapters. configureOIDC runs after portal keys and optional refresh configuration. Portal.Close closes the provider; Portal.GetOIDCProvider exposes its public interface. pkg/authn/oidc_config.go retains OIDCProviderConfig and OIDCClientConfig as aliases; PortalConfig.OIDCProvider keeps its oidc_provider serialization.

Read reusing the Go provider when embedding pkg/oidc independently or changing its public API and identity boundary. Read configuration and clients for setup and operational constraints. Read conformance for the targeted certification profiles, supported features, test evidence, and the OpenID Foundation test-plan configuration.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
