go-authcrunch: Skill for Codex

.codex/skills/secrets-plugins/SKILL.md

secrets-plugins is a skill for Codex from greenpau/go-authcrunch. It costs 57 tokens per session (1,647 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of plugins for retrieving secrets from SQLite, a static source, or AWS Secrets Manager. A secrets plugin supplies stored values to another component; it does not authenticate users or install keys by itself.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to bind local, static, or AWS-held secrets to a Go application, adapt provider results for consumers, and validate resource and metadata handling.
Why use it?
It separates obtaining secret values from using them for passwords, API keys, or signing material. The guidance also records the plugin APIs, payload formats, lifecycle rules, and consumer checks.

This is greenpau/go-authcrunch's own configuration. It tells Codex how to work on go-authcrunch itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything go-authcrunch configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00057 $0.01647
Opus 5.5 $0.00023 $0.00659
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00329
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00165

Security

Grade A, and why

secrets-plugins scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 29d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Secrets Plugins

Own retrieval and adaptation

A secrets plugin retrieves values for a consumer to use in configuration. It does not authenticate users, hash passwords, authorize requests, or install signing keys by itself. Backend credential acquisition is also distinct from the password, API key, or signing material contained in the retrieved record.

Read SQLite bound secrets to maintain the pure-Go local plugin, its public parser, provisioning API, and gatekeeper consumer tests.

The external reference modules are:

Read provider contracts when selecting, calling, troubleshooting, or changing compatibility with either implementation. It records exact signatures, source revisions, constructor behavior, payload shape, tests, and support limits. Read the consumer example when binding AWS paths, sharing the existing client safely, or building a plain Go adapter.

For a new standalone secrets repository, the repository bootstrap workflow provides an AGENTS.md template that routes to AuthCrunch guidance and the new repository's own implementation skill. A companion host plugin adds its host's plugin-development guidance and local adapter contracts. In-repository synthetic secrets plugins use plugins/secrets/<name> under the reference contract; the implemented SQLite reference is separate from the two external modules above.

Essential compatibility rules

The static client binds one record at construction. Its reads take only context and optionally a key. The AWS client takes a path on every read. They do not implement one identical Go interface. A consumer can bind the AWS path in an adapter and expose the same record-reader methods as the static client.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
