nebula-tv: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/new-composable/SKILL.md

new-composable is a skill for Claude Code from gsbakshi/nebula-tv. It costs 43 tokens per session (586 once invoked), scanned A, original, MPL-2.0.

A template for building a reusable Android TV UI component with Jetpack Compose, Android’s modern interface toolkit. It includes D-pad focus behavior, focus animation, TV Material styling, and a preview for a dark 1080p screen.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create reusable TV components such as channel cards, app tiles, news headlines, or selectable chips.
Why use it?
It avoids repeatedly setting up the special focus and selection behavior TV users need because they navigate with a remote instead of tapping.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00043 $0.00586
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00293
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00117
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00059

Security

Grade A, and why

new-composable scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 77 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Create a new reusable Composable. Ask for:

  1. Name (e.g., ChannelCard, AppTile, NewsHeadline, FocusableChip)
  2. Interactive? (has onClick/select behavior) or decorative
  3. Location: ui/components/core/ (generic reusable) or a feature package

What to Generate

For an interactive Composable:

@OptIn(ExperimentalTvMaterial3Api::class)
@Composable
fun ComponentName(
    onClick: () -> Unit,
    modifier: Modifier = Modifier,
    // ... your params
) {
    // Option A: Use TV Card (focus handled automatically)
    androidx.tv.material3.Card(
        onClick = onClick,
        modifier = modifier
    ) {
        // content
    }

    // Option B: Custom focus with scale animation
    var isFocused by remember { mutableStateOf(false) }
    val scale by animateFloatAsState(
        targetValue = if (isFocused) 1.05f else 1.0f,
        label = "focus_scale"
    )
    Box(
        modifier = modifier
            .scale(scale)
            .border(
                width = if (isFocused) 2.dp else 0.dp,
                color = if (isFocused) MaterialTheme.colorScheme.primary else Color.Transparent,
                shape = RoundedCornerShape(8.dp)
            )
            .onFocusChanged { isFocused = it.isFocused }
            .focusable()
            .clickable(onClick = onClick)
    )
}

Preview Setup (always include):

@Preview(
    showBackground = true,
    backgroundColor = 0xFF0D0D1A, // Nebula dark space background
    widthDp = 320,
    heightDp = 180,
    name = "ComponentName — TV 1080p"
)
@Composable
private fun ComponentNamePreview() {
    NebulaTheme {
        ComponentName(onClick = {})
    }
}

TV Material3 Component Cheat Sheet

Prefer these over standard Material3 when available:

  • tv.material3.Card — auto focus, ripple, scale
  • tv.material3.Button — D-pad safe, handles OK key
  • tv.material3.ListItem — standard TV list row with focus
  • tv.material3.Surface — base focusable container
  • tv.material3.Text — no difference, but use for consistency

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
