OPTIC-K Schema Guardian

OPTIC-K Schema Guardian is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from GuitarAlchemist/ga. It costs 34 tokens per session (821 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A ruleset for maintaining OPTIC-K, a schema that represents musical objects as numeric embeddings for similarity search. It specifies how dimensions are grouped, weighted, and generated.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when changing embedding generation, similarity scoring, or retrieval indexing so dimension mappings, partitions, and weights remain consistent.
Why use it?
It helps prevent incompatible changes to the embedding data that could alter similarity results or break indexing.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00034 $0.00821
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00411
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00164
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00082

Security

Grade A, and why

OPTIC-K Schema Guardian scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

OPTIC-K Schema Guardian

This skill provides the definitive rules for the OPTIC-K Musical Embedding Schema, currently at version 1.6. Use this skill whenever modifying or evaluating the embedding generation pipeline, similarity scoring, or RAG indexing.

1. Schema Overview (v1.6)

The embedding vector consists of 216 dimensions partitioned into semantic subspaces.

Partition Range Weight Purpose
IDENTITY 0-5 N/A Object type (Voicing, Scale, etc.). Hard filtering only.
STRUCTURE 6-29 0.45 Pitch-class set invariants (O+P+T+I). Core musical identity.
MORPHOLOGY 30-53 0.25 Physical fretboard realization (geometry/fingering).
CONTEXT 54-65 0.20 Temporal motion and harmonic functionality.
SYMBOLIC 66-77 0.10 Manual tags (Drop-2, Hendrix-style, etc.).
EXTENSIONS 78-95 N/A Informational textural features (Register, Spread, Density).
SPECTRAL 96-108 N/A DFT-based geometry (Phase spheres, Entropy).
MODAL 109-148 0.10* Modal flavors (28 family modes + Pentatonic/Symmetric).
HIERARCHY 149-156 N/A Structural complexity and nesting depth.
RESERVED 157-215 N/A Future expansion (Symbolic knowledge graphs).

Note: MODAL weight is typically rolled into SYMBOLIC similarity scoring.

2. Validation Rules

Identity Guard

  • Index 0-5 must be a one-hot vector indicating the object type.
  • Similarity search MUST NOT include these indices unless filtering.

Structure (The "Pitch Circle" Rules)

  • Chroma (6-17): 12-bit vector for pitch class presence.
  • ICV (19-24): Interval Class Vector.
  • Consonance (29): Calculated via the IntervalClassVector. High IC5/IC3 increases this value.

Morphology (The "Guitar" Rules)

  • Note Count (48): Normalized to a 6-string limit (total / 6.0).
  • Span (33): Normalized to 4 octaves (span / 48.0).

Extension Formulae

If editing MusicalEmbeddingGenerator.cs, ensure these specific formulae are maintained:

  • Harmonic Inertia: Stability * (1.0 - Tension)
  • Resolution Pressure: (0.7 * Tension) + (0.3 * (1.0 - Stability))

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

OPTIC-K Schema Guardian is a skill published in the GitHub repository GuitarAlchemist/ga (2 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 34 tokens to every session and 821 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
