god-plan

god-plan is a skill for Claude Code from hannsxpeter/godpowers. It costs 56 tokens per session (480 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project-planning guide that writes a plan with a goal, requirements, checks for completion, exclusions, design choices, and small build steps. A requirement's completion check states how a person or test can confirm it is done.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to plan a feature or product before coding, define what is deliberately out of scope, and break the work into verifiable slices.
Why use it?
It turns a vague or large software request into work that can be built and checked in stages. It also records decisions and unanswered questions so the team has a shared reference.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00056 $0.00480
Opus 5.5 $0.00022 $0.00192
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00011 $0.00096
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00048

Security

Grade A, and why

god-plan scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

/god-plan

Size the plan to the work. When the request already lists its requirements, the plan is just the goal, those requirements with their "Done when" checks, and the slices. A new product gets every section.

  1. Read STATE.md, PLAN.md and DECISIONS.md if they exist, and enough of the code to ground the plan in real files. For a large or unfamiliar codebase you may delegate the reading to a subagent of your choice and work from its draft. Before you start it, say which model and effort you picked and why, then pass both explicitly (whichever your host accepts); never let it inherit yours. A fast model at low effort is enough for reading.
  2. Write .godpowers/PLAN.md with these sections:
    • ## Goal: who it is for and what success looks like.
    • ## Requirements: - R1: <requirement>. Done when: <observable check>. Each needs a check that a test or a person can run.
    • ## Non-goals: what is deliberately out.
    • ## Design: structure, data, interfaces, and failure handling that matter, naming real files.
    • ## Slices: ordered thin end-to-end slices, - [ ] 1. <slice>: <how it is verified>.
    • ## Open questions: only ones that change the plan, each with who decides.
  3. Append lasting choices (stack, data model, external services, trade-offs) to DECISIONS.md as ## YYYY-MM-DD: <decision> with one line each for Context, Decision, and Why. Never edit old entries; add one that supersedes.
  4. Put known risks in STATE.md, set stage: build, and name the first slice under Next.
  5. Run npx -y godpowers@7 lint and fix any errors.
  6. Ask the user only about open questions that block the first slice.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

god-plan is a skill published in the GitHub repository hannsxpeter/godpowers (6 stars, last pushed 10d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 56 tokens to every session and 480 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-27.
