abstract-writer

abstract-writer is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from Haohaha-11/Paper-Writing. It costs 0 tokens per session (832 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A writing guide for paper abstracts. An abstract is the short summary that tells readers and reviewers the problem, method, evidence, and meaning of a research paper.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to draft, revise, shorten, or check an abstract when experiments, evidence, word limits, or the target publication change.
Why use it?
It helps make the paper's contribution clear while preventing claims that go beyond the supporting results.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00832
Opus 5 $0.00000 $0.00416
Sonnet 5 $0.00000 $0.00166
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00083

Security

Grade A, and why

abstract-writer scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Abstract Writer

Purpose

Draft or revise an abstract that makes a clear, evidence-backed promise about the paper. The abstract should help reviewers understand the problem, gap, method, result, and implication without exaggerating unsupported claims.

When To Use

  • Creating the first abstract from a paper context.
  • Revising an abstract after experiments change.
  • Compressing an abstract for venue constraints.
  • Checking whether an abstract overclaims novelty or results.

Inputs

Required:

  • target venue and paper type;
  • one-sentence thesis;
  • main contributions;
  • strongest verified result;
  • task, dataset, metric, or validation protocol when central;
  • known limitations or scope constraints.

Optional:

  • current abstract;
  • target word limit;
  • novelty-scout report;
  • claim-evidence matrix.

Abstract Structure

Use this five-move structure unless the venue strongly suggests otherwise:

  1. Problem: what concrete problem matters?
  2. Gap: what is missing or insufficient in prior work?
  3. Method/insight: what does this paper introduce?
  4. Evidence: what result supports the claim?
  5. Implication: what changes, within the proven scope?

Procedure

  1. Extract all claims from the current abstract or paper context.
  2. Mark each claim as problem, gap, method, result, implication, or unsupported.
  3. Require at least one concrete evidence sentence if the paper has experimental or empirical claims.
  4. Replace vague adjectives with measurable scope: "improves Dice by X", "reduces memory by Y", "validated on Z", or "under assumption A".
  5. Remove or weaken "first", "novel", "state-of-the-art", "robust", "clinical-grade", and similar terms unless backed by evidence.
  6. Ensure the abstract does not introduce claims absent from the paper body.
  7. Produce a revised abstract plus a claim-risk note.

Rubric

Dimension Strong Weak
Problem Specific task/context Generic field opening
Gap Fair limitation in prior work Strawman or vague "challenging" claim
Method Clear mechanism or insight Name-only method description
Evidence Concrete result/validation No numbers, datasets, or support
Scope Honest implication Broad conclusion beyond evidence
Readability One coherent paragraph List of disconnected claims

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

abstract-writer is a skill published in the GitHub repository Haohaha-11/Paper-Writing (3 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 832 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
