VESSL Cloud Onboarding
Overview
Use only the current VESSL Cloud at https://cloud.vessl.ai and the vesslctl CLI. Separate free/read-only setup verification from billable compute, storage, and Job creation. Read the official workflow and command reference when acting. For autoresearch, also read the official VESSL repositories and defer to the pinned vessl-cloud-cookbook/autoresearch recipe.
Preflight
Classify the target as signup, CLI verification, cost review, or paid tutorial. Confirm the current product URL and whether vesslctl is installed without reading credentials or ~/.config/vesslctl/config.yaml.
Product and Secret Boundary
Do not mix the current Cloud product with legacy VESSL MLOps, its vessl Python CLI, or its Organization/Project model. Current Cloud uses Organization → Team → Workspace/Job.
Never ask for or inspect passwords, MFA codes, OAuth tokens, access-token values, cookies, browser storage, or ~/.config/vesslctl/config.yaml. The user completes credentials, OAuth/SAML, CAPTCHA, email verification, legal acceptance, age confirmation, and final signup submission.
Workflow
Phase 1 — Signup and Free Setup Verification
- Open the official signup page with the available Browser skill and inspect visible state. If browser control is unavailable, give the official link and manual checkpoints.
- Hand sensitive signup and Organization creation submission to the user. Explain that the creator may receive administrative responsibility.
- Before CLI installation, inspect the official install instructions, explain the binary/PATH change, and obtain explicit confirmation.
- Enforce browser authentication with
vesslctl auth login --web; the user completes the sensitive browser step. Do not fall back to terminal password entry. - Verify only with non-secret, read-only commands:
