Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00050 | $0.00526 |
| Opus 5.5 | $0.00020 | $0.00210 |
| Sonnet 5.5 | $0.00010 | $0.00105 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00005 | $0.00053 |
Grade A, and why
pruner scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
What it actually says
Pruner — Code Context Engine
Run one command to get context. Default output is a brief summary (~2K tokens) with file/symbol pointers.
Usage
# Brief pointers (default)
pruner context /absolute/path/to/repo "<the user's ask>"
# Detailed output with execution paths and code snippets
pruner context /absolute/path/to/repo "<the user's ask>" --detail
IMPORTANT: Always pass the repo as an absolute path argument. Do NOT use cd <repo> && pruner context . — the shell sandbox may reset the working directory.
After running pruner
- Read the output — use file/symbol pointers to navigate the codebase.
- Use
--detailif needed — when pointers aren't enough, re-run with--detailfor execution paths and code snippets (~10-15K tokens). - Read source files only if needed — if a snippet is truncated or you need surrounding context, use the file:line pointers from the output.
- Do NOT re-explore — pruner already searched the index. Do not grep or glob for the same keywords.
When to escalate
- Read
.pruner/context.md— if available, contains full execution paths and code snippets from the last hook run. Zero cost. - Run with
--detail— regenerates focused output (~10-15K tokens). Use for understanding/debugging queries. - Single symbol:
pruner show-symbol /path/to/repo "<name>"— signature, callers, callees. - Single file:
pruner show-file /path/to/repo "<path>"— all symbols and imports.
Other modes
--detail— execution paths + code snippets (~10-15K tokens). Use when brief pointers aren't enough.--brief— metadata only, no snippets (~2K tokens). Use when you only need file/symbol pointers.--full— uncapped output with all snippets (~50-70K tokens). Use for deep analysis.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

pruner is a skill published in the GitHub repository heikki-laitala/pruner (16 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 50 tokens to every session and 526 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-26.
