superpowers-sage:acorn-commands

superpowers-sage:acorn-commands is a skill for Claude Code from hekivo/superpowers-sage. It costs 94 tokens per session (1,400 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A way to create custom command-line tasks for a WordPress site using Acorn, a Laravel-based framework for WordPress.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build scheduled imports, database maintenance, fixture seeding, cache resets, derived-data updates, and other developer tools.
Why use it?
It lets repeatable maintenance, imports, scraping, and other longer tasks run outside a web request while still using WordPress and application services.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00094 $0.01400
Opus 5 $0.00047 $0.00700
Sonnet 5 $0.00019 $0.00280
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00140

Security

Grade A, and why

superpowers-sage:acorn-commands scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 1 executable file (scripts/create-command.sh), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Custom Acorn CLI Commands

Acorn commands are artisan-style CLI commands running inside WordPress context with full access to the Laravel container (services, Eloquent, config) and all WordPress functions (get_posts(), wp_insert_post(), etc.).

When to use

  • Scheduled data imports or scraping (cron-driven)
  • One-off maintenance operations that touch the database and need Laravel services
  • Developer tooling: seeding fixtures, resetting caches, recomputing derived data
  • Long-running jobs that shouldn't run in a request cycle

When NOT to use

  • Simple WP-CLI operations already covered by wp post, wp user, wp option — use wp-cli-ops instead
  • Routing / HTTP endpoints — use acorn-routes for request-based flows
  • Background jobs with retries and failure tracking — use acorn-queues (Laravel queues) for durable processing
  • Quick ad-hoc queries — lando wp shell or lando wp eval is faster for exploration

Prerequisites

  • Acorn installed and bootstrapped in the theme
  • ConsoleServiceProvider registered (default in Acorn skeleton)
  • Lando running (lando start) — commands execute inside the container

Creating a Command

lando acorn make:command ImportProducts
# Generates app/Console/Commands/ImportProducts.php

Scripts: scripts/create-command.sh

Command Anatomy

<?php
namespace App\Console\Commands;
use Illuminate\Console\Command;

class ImportProducts extends Command
{
    protected $signature = 'import:products
        {source : The data source (csv or api)}
        {--dry-run : Preview changes without writing}
        {--limit=100 : Max records to process}
        {--tag=* : Tags to assign (repeatable)}';
    protected $description = 'Import products from CSV or external API';

    public function handle(): int
    {
        $source = $this->argument('source');
        $this->info("Importing from {$source}");
        if ($this->option('dry-run')) { $this->warn('Dry-run mode — no writes.'); }
        return self::SUCCESS; // 0 = success, 1 = failure
    }
}

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
