superpowers-sage:architecture-discovery

superpowers-sage:architecture-discovery is a skill for Claude Code from hekivo/superpowers-sage. It costs 89 tokens per session (788 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A design-first process for understanding WordPress projects built with Sage, Acorn, and Lando. It maps the existing code, content types, routes, custom fields, components, data flow, risks, and architecture decisions before implementation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create an architecture specification and implementation sequence for a Sage/Acorn WordPress feature, including component boundaries, content models, dependencies, risks, and architecture decision records.
Why use it?
It prevents coding from starting before the project's structure and requirements are understood and approved. The process also identifies gaps and compares possible approaches.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00089 $0.00788
Opus 5 $0.00044 $0.00394
Sonnet 5 $0.00018 $0.00158
Haiku 4.5 $0.00009 $0.00079

Security

Grade A, and why

superpowers-sage:architecture-discovery scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Architecture Discovery

Design-first architecture workflow for WordPress + Sage + Acorn + Lando projects.

$ARGUMENTS

HARD GATES

  • Never write implementation code in this skill.
  • Never invoke superpowers-sage:building before architecture approval and plan generation.
  • Never skip section-by-section approval.

Procedure (summary)

Full step-by-step procedures for each phase are in references/discovery-procedures.md.

  1. Branch & scope — ensure feature branch exists, normalize scope in one sentence.
  2. Explore context — read config/poet.php, existing blocks, providers, active plans.
  3. Clarifying questions — gather requirements one at a time (UX, editor, integrations, constraints).
  4. Identify components — list with responsibility, inputs/outputs, dependencies, risks.
  5. Parallel probes — dispatch content-modeler, design-extractor (PANORAMIC), sage-reviewer in parallel; synthesize.
  6. Propose approaches — 2-3 options with trade-offs; ask user to choose. Apply AD-2 preset if porting legacy schemas.
  7. Decision graph — classify tasks as parallel/sequential/gated.
  8. Section: Overview — present + ask approval.
  9. Section: Components & data flow — present + ask approval.
  10. Section: Quality strategy — present + ask approval.
  11. Write specdocs/superpowers/specs/YYYY-MM-DD-<topic>-architecture.md. Commit.
  12. Spec review loop — dispatch sage-reviewer up to 3 times; escalate on persistent failure.
  13. User approval gate — revise until approved.
  14. Handoff — prepare handoff payload; invoke superpowers-sage:plan-generator.

For detailed procedure steps and the AD-2 preset block, read skills/architecture-discovery/references/discovery-procedures.md.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
