heurist-finance: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/trading-plan/SKILL.md

trading-plan is a skill for Claude Code from heurist-network/heurist-finance. It costs 121 tokens per session (1,943 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A method for turning a trade idea into a written decision with current market data, possible outcomes, probabilities, position size, and conditions that would change the decision. A trading plan is a short set of rules for entering, managing, and reviewing a trade.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to research a stock or option trade, compare scenarios, choose a position size, and save a one-page plan before entering a position.
Why use it?
It replaces vague intentions with explicit assumptions and limits. Checking the plan against the trader's own habits and risk rules can also reduce decisions made during stress or excitement.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00121 $0.01943
Opus 5.5 $0.00048 $0.00777
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00024 $0.00389
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00194

Measured 13d ago against content hash a120a1b5c2e4, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

trading-plan scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 13d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Trading Plan

Overview

Companion to hf-research: that skill answers "what's true?" — this one answers "what do I do, at what size, and what would change my mind?" Two outputs, proportional to the ask:

  1. Decision-ready analysis — live data, scenario table, a directional call with its falsifier.
  2. A written plan (only when actually entering/sizing a position) — saved to trading/plans/YYYY-MM-DD-<slug>.md.

Read profile.md (repo root) before planning: it holds the user's stance, no-go list, and known failure modes (for example: emotional exits mid-trade, drifting from the plan). Every plan this skill produces must be executable by the user's worst self, not just their best self. field-card.md is the psychology reference — treat it as part of this skill.

Data layer

Same CLI as hf-research: scripts/hf_tool.py from repo root, JSON to stdout, describe before call. Most-used for trading:

Need Command
Spot + day range + 50/200-day hf_tool.py call yahoo quote_snapshot symbol=SYM
Option expirations (discovery) hf_tool.py call yahoo options_chain symbol=SYM (no expiration; list truncates at 12 — LEAPs exist even if not shown, try the 3rd-Friday date directly)
Option chain slice hf_tool.py call yahoo options_chain symbol=SYM expiration=YYYY-MM-DD side=puts moneyness=otm min_strike=A max_strike=B limit_contracts=40
IV term structure loop options_chain over expirations with moneyness=atm limit_contracts=6, read ATM IV per expiry
Trend/momentum/vol state hf_tool.py call yahoo technical_snapshot symbol=SYM

Cycle evidence (margins, inventory, capex) hf_tool.py call sec xbrl_fact_trends query=SYM metric="gross profit" frequency=quarterly limit=12 (plain-English match can grab stale concepts — prefer exact XBRL names like PaymentsToAcquirePropertyPlantAndEquipment; dedupe restatement rows by period-end)

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
