solo: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/solo-prepare-release/SKILL.md

solo-prepare-release is a skill for Claude Code from hiero-ledger/solo. It costs 124 tokens per session (2,416 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A release-preparation procedure for the Solo project. It determines the next version from conventional commits, which are specially formatted commit messages, and updates release documentation.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for preparing a Solo release branch and pull request, updating README release tables, checking version information, and retiring expired release rows.
Why use it?
It reduces mistakes in version calculations, release support dates, dependency details, and release-table maintenance.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00124 $0.02416
Opus 5 $0.00062 $0.01208
Sonnet 5 $0.00025 $0.00483
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00242

Security

Grade A, and why

solo-prepare-release scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Solo Prepare Release

Prepare the documentation and branch for a new Solo release. This skill encodes the exact steps the Solo team follows so the README release table, the legacy table, and the version math stay consistent.

Run everything from the solo/ repo root (the directory containing version.ts, README.md, and legacy-versions.md). Verify with git rev-parse --show-toplevel before starting.

When to use

  • The user asks to prepare/cut a release, bump the version, or open a release PR for Solo.

Do not use for: actually tagging/publishing the release (that is the release workflow, not this skill), or for non-Solo repos.

Inputs to gather first

Fact How to get it
Last released version git describe --tags --abbrev=0 (e.g. v0.79.0)
Commits since last tag git log "$(git describe --tags --abbrev=0)"..HEAD --pretty=%s
Today's date date +%Y-%m-%d
Dependency versions version.ts constants (see mapping below)

Step 1 — Determine the next version

Read the current version from package.json ("version") — confirm it matches the last tag.

Decide the bump by inspecting commit subjects since the last tag:

LAST_TAG="$(git describe --tags --abbrev=0)"
git log "${LAST_TAG}..HEAD" --pretty=%s
  • If any subject starts with feat: (also count conventional variants feat(scope): and feat!:/feat(scope)!:), bump the minor version and reset patch to 0 → 0.79.0 becomes 0.80.0.
  • Otherwise bump only the patch version → 0.79.0 becomes 0.79.1.

Detection one-liner (NEXT ends up as the bare version, no leading v):

CUR="$(node -p "require('./package.json').version")"   # e.g. 0.79.0
IFS=. read -r MAJ MIN PAT <<< "${CUR}"
if git log "${LAST_TAG}..HEAD" --pretty=%s | grep -Eq '^feat(\(.+\))?!?:'; then
  NEXT="${MAJ}.$((MIN + 1)).0"
else
  NEXT="${MAJ}.${MIN}.$((PAT + 1))"
fi
echo "Next version: ${NEXT}"

State the computed version and the reason (feat found → minor / none → patch) before proceeding.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
