find-CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue

find-CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue is a skill for Claude Code from HLND2T/CS2_VibeSignatures. It costs 98 tokens per session (1,111 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A reverse-engineering procedure for locating a specific Counter-Strike 2 engine function in a compiled program. It uses IDA Pro, a tool for examining compiled code, as a fallback when an earlier search cannot identify the function.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue in the Windows or Linux CS2 engine binary and verify the result against the current build.
Why use it?
It helps recover the function when automatic analysis cannot follow a tail call, which is a jump from one function directly into another. This avoids stopping with an unresolved target.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00098 $0.01111
Opus 5.5 $0.00039 $0.00444
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00020 $0.00222
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00111

Security

Grade A, and why

find-CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 29d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Find CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue (final-guarantee fallback)

Recover the concrete CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue function in CS2 engine2.dll / libengine2.so using IDA Pro MCP tools. This is an Agent fallback: it runs only when ida_preprocessor_scripts/find-CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue.py cannot resolve the target.

Realworld Function References

The finder's LLM_DECOMPILE reference is the predecessor CNetworkGameServerBase_SpawnGroupThink, whose body ends by tail-calling CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue. Read the platform reference before searching in IDA; its addresses are reference-build values and must be verified against the current binary.

  • ida_preprocessor_scripts/references/engine/CNetworkGameServerBase_SpawnGroupThink.windows.yaml
  • ida_preprocessor_scripts/references/engine/CNetworkGameServerBase_SpawnGroupThink.linux.yaml

Background — what ServiceQueue is

CNetworkGameServerBase_SpawnGroupThink(this, spawnGroupQueue) ends by tail-calling CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue(this, spawnGroupQueue). In the reference build the tail call is the final jmp sub_XXXX in the function body:

.text:000000000051AA71 jmp sub_51A500 ; CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue

ServiceQueue is the routine that actually services the spawn-group queue: it loops with a ~5 ms time step (<now> + 0.005), walks 16-byte queue entries (shl reg, 4), and decrements the 16-bit pending-group counter at queue offset +0x16, until the deadline passes or the queue drains. Do not confuse it with its caller SpawnGroupThink — the target is the callee reached by that tail jump.

The reference artifacts are only orientation values (verify every field against the current binary):

Platform Reference func_va Reference func_rva Reference size
Windows 0x1800b7990 0xb7990 0x1fe
Linux 0x51a500 0x51a500 0x3d8

Step 0. Skip an existing output

If CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue.<platform>.yaml already exists in the active artifact module directory and parses to a non-empty mapping, skip that platform. Never derive the artifact path from bin.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

find-CNetworkGameServerBase_ServiceQueue is a skill published in the GitHub repository HLND2T/CS2_VibeSignatures (67 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 98 tokens to every session and 1,111 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-10-09.
