cyber-scoped-validation

cyber-scoped-validation is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from HoangNguyen0403/agent-skills-standard. It costs 44 tokens per session (657 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A controlled method for checking one approved cybersecurity claim against expected behavior and redacted evidence. It supports either safe offline analysis or an authorized live check with clear safety limits.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps validate exercise observations, capture the evidence and limitations, and assign a clear result such as confirmed, suspected, blocked, untested, or false positive.
Why use it?
It prevents checks from exceeding their approved scope or running without the required controls. Unsupported live checks are recorded as blocked rather than treated as successful.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00044 $0.00657
Opus 5.5 $0.00018 $0.00263
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00009 $0.00131
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00066

Security

Grade A, and why

cyber-scoped-validation scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Cyber Scoped Validation

Priority: P0 (CRITICAL)

Validate one approved claim at a time; unsupported live controls produce a block, not a workaround.

Structure

cyber-scoped-validation/
├── SKILL.md
├── references/validation-record.md
└── evals/evals.json

Workflow

  1. Bind claim to engagement/scope reference, authorization window, exclusions, and expected observation.
  2. Check required mode: safe offline analysis/replay or authorized lab validation.
  3. For safe offline analysis or supplied evidence review, execute bounded observation without host mutations.
  4. For active lab validation against disposable synthetic fixtures, route explicitly to cyber-lab-validation; scoped-validation alone does not authorize active actions.
  5. Observe within bounds, capture redacted evidence, and assign finding_status based on corroboration (confirmed, suspected, blocked, not-tested, false-positive). Retain prior corroborated findings if a retest step blocks.
  6. Stop on expiry, drift, unsafe impact, or missing controls; route results to independent adjudication.

Rules

  • No exploit scripts, operational attack commands, real targets, malware, exfiltration, or credential collection.
  • Scoped validation governs offline analysis and supplied evidence review. It does NOT execute active lab attacks or bypass runtime boundaries.
  • Bounded lab handoff: When active validation in an isolated disposable lab is required, hand off to cyber-lab-validation. That skill requires independent host gates and does not grant blanket execution permission.
  • Positive continuation: Unsupported runtime blocks active validation. Continue safe offline plan review, architecture analysis, or remediation drafting without halting independent work.
  • Finding status is separate from step state: a blocked retest step never erases prior corroborated findings or forces them to not-tested (IR03).
  • Do not invent observations, timestamps, approvals, or runtime attestations. With no supplied/exercised evidence, record finding_status: not-tested (AC-CLV-11).

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

cyber-scoped-validation is a skill published in the GitHub repository HoangNguyen0403/agent-skills-standard (582 stars, last pushed today), licensed MIT. It adds 44 tokens to every session and 657 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-30.
