skillful-agent-system-builder: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/project-scaffolding/SKILL.md

project-scaffolding is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from houarnu166/skillful-agent-system-builder. It costs 22 tokens per session (476 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guide for turning a start prompt into a standard directory of coding agents, Skills, and instruction files.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to scaffold a new agent system, create agent files, generate SKILL.md files, and build the expected folder structure.
Why use it?
It removes the guesswork from deciding where each agent and Skill belongs and how its metadata should be written.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for no agent in particular: nothing here depends on one. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions AGENTS.md.

This is houarnu166/skillful-agent-system-builder's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on skillful-agent-system-builder itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00022 $0.00476
Opus 5 $0.00011 $0.00238
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00095
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00048

Security

Grade A, and why

project-scaffolding scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Project Scaffolding Skill

This skill guides you through parsing a "Start Prompt" markdown file and creating the corresponding file structure.

1. Directory Structure Standard

You must create the following structure structure in the target directory:

{system-name}/
├── .agents/
│ ├── {agent1-name}.md
│ ├── {agent2-name}.md
│ └── skills/
│ └── {skill-name}/
│ └── SKILL.md
└── AGENTS.md (or specified generic doc)

2. Parsing Strategy

The Start Prompt file usually contains sections for Agents and Skills.

Extracting Agents

Look for sections describing Agents. They typically contain:

  • Name
  • Description / Role
  • Frontmatter (YAML)
  • System Prompt / Instructions

Action: Create .agents/{name}.md with the extracted content. Ensure the YAML frontmatter is at the very top.

Extracting Skills

Look for sections describing Skills.

  • Name
  • Description
  • Instructions (Markdown content)

Action:

  1. Create directory .agents/skills/{skill-name}/
  2. Create SKILL.md inside it.
  3. Add YAML frontmatter:
    ---
    name: {skill-name}
    description: {short-description}
    ---

  4. Add the skill instructions below the frontmatter.

3. Execution Steps

  1. Initialize: mkdir -p {target_dir}/.agents/skills
  2. Generate Agents: loop through identified agents and write files.
  3. Generate Skills: loop through identified skills and write files.
  4. Finalize: Write a basic AGENTS.md referencing the created agents.

4. Safety Checks

  • Sanitize Paths: Ensure filenames do not contain special characters or spaces (use hyphens).
  • Overwrite Protection: If the directory is not empty, warn or append a timestamp (though Orchestrator usually handles this).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

project-scaffolding is a skill published in the GitHub repository houarnu166/skillful-agent-system-builder (23 stars, last pushed 7mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 22 tokens to every session and 476 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
