huawei-cloud-ecs-vulnerability-auditor

huawei-cloud-ecs-vulnerability-auditor is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from huaweicloud/huaweicloud-skills. It costs 141 tokens per session (2,836 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A security audit for Huawei Cloud ECS virtual machines, checking operating-system packages, network services, application libraries and container workloads. It compares the discovered software with public vulnerability records and known exploited vulnerabilities.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to inspect Huawei Cloud ECS instances running Java, Python, Node.js, PHP or Go software, as well as Docker, containerd or Podman workloads.
Why use it?
It helps reveal outdated or vulnerable software across the host, applications and containers rather than checking only one layer. The inventory is collected remotely in read-only form.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00141 $0.02836
Opus 5.5 $0.00056 $0.01134
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00028 $0.00567
Haiku 4.5 $0.00014 $0.00284

Security

Grade A, and why

huawei-cloud-ecs-vulnerability-auditor scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 2 executable files (scripts/collect_assets.sh, scripts/query_gcve.py), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Huawei Cloud ECS Vulnerability Auditor

Overview

Audit Huawei Cloud ECS instances across host operating systems, active network services, application language runtimes, and container workloads for known and actively exploited vulnerabilities:

  1. IAM Authorization — Verify or initialize the ServiceAgencyForCOC cross-service agency trusting op_svc_coc.
  2. Asset Collection via COC — Remotely execute a safe, read-only Python-based inventory collector on the target ECS instance using Huawei Cloud Cloud Operations Center (COC).
  3. Multi-Tier Asset Extraction — Robustly collect host OS packages (dpkg/rpm), listening ports and process binaries (ss/netstat), application libraries (Java .jar manifests, pip, npm, composer), and container workloads (docker, podman).
  4. Result Retrieval from COC Logs — Fetch execution output via COC GetScriptJobBatch and extract the structured inventory between demarcated boundary markers (===ECS_ASSET_INVENTORY_START=== / ===END===).
  5. Vulnerability & KEV Matching — Cross-reference identified assets against https://db.gcve.eu/api/ (/vulnerability/?product={product} for product CVEs, /kev for confirmed in-the-wild exploitation, and /epss for exploit prediction scoring).
  6. Automatic Version Range Matching & CVSS Fallback — Automatically evaluate whether the installed version falls within the CVE's affected version range (e.g. 8.3.* to <8.3.36), extract CVSS scores with graceful fallback policies, and extract official vulnerability disclosure dates.
  7. Remediation Report Generation — Output prioritized remediation guidance (P0 KEV criticals, package upgrade commands, container base image updates, network security group rules).
  8. Security Cleanup — Automatically remove temporary COC scripts and remote scan artifacts.

Tool chain: Huawei Cloud KooCLI (hcloud) + Python 3 + https://db.gcve.eu/api/.

Prerequisites

  • KooCLI (hcloud) authenticated with AK/SK — see CLI Installation Guide
  • IAM permissions to operate COC and ECS — see IAM Policies
  • Target ECS instance ID or Elastic IP (ACTIVE state)
  • Network access to https://db.gcve.eu/api from the auditing environment — see GCVE API Reference

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
