lighter

lighter is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from iamgoatedaf/lighter-mcp. It costs 32 tokens per session (289 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A trading skill for Lighter, used through the lighter MCP server. It covers market data, simulated trading with paper money, and live trading protected by safety checks and two-step confirmation.

In plain words
What is it for?
Checking markets, resolving unclear trading symbols, paper trading, and preparing or executing gated live trades and fund-related actions after confirmation.
Why use it?
It makes trading actions subject to previews, confirmations, spending limits, and explicit handling of safety errors before higher-risk operations proceed.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00032 $0.00289
Opus 5 $0.00016 $0.00144
Sonnet 5 $0.00006 $0.00058
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00029

Security

Grade A, and why

lighter scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Lighter trading skill (Codex)

The lighter MCP server is registered. Tool names are lighter_* and grouped by risk family. The full safety contract lives in adapters/cursor/rules/lighter-safety.mdc and is summarized below; behavior must match across agents.

Always

  1. Read lighter_safety_status before any non-trivial action; surface the active mode and remaining daily notional to the user.
  2. For lighter_live_* and lighter_funds_*: first call returns a preview plus confirmation_id. Show the entire plan to the user verbatim, ask for explicit confirmation, then call again with the same arguments plus the issued confirmation_id.
  3. If a tool returns category: "safety" or category: "confirmation", surface the error verbatim. Never retry with altered arguments to circumvent a gate.
  4. Resolve ambiguous symbols with lighter_list_markets.

Never

  • Invent or share a confirmation_id with the user.
  • Re-execute after a partial failure without re-previewing.
  • Bypass safety errors by tweaking notional or leverage.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

lighter is a skill published in the GitHub repository iamgoatedaf/lighter-mcp (1 stars, last pushed 4mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 32 tokens to every session and 289 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
