igniteui-cli: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/igniteui-cli-template-anatomy/SKILL.md

igniteui-cli-template-anatomy is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from IgniteUI/igniteui-cli. It costs 97 tokens per session (2,698 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A reference for the folder structure and required files of Ignite UI component templates for Angular, React, and Web Components. It also identifies where the templates keep their package-version pins.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to locate template roots, fields, placeholders, variants, tests, groups, and version pins. It is also useful when checking template coverage across frameworks.
Why use it?
It helps contributors find the right files and follow the existing template layout. This reduces errors when adding templates or checking that frameworks are consistent.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00097 $0.02698
Opus 5.5 $0.00039 $0.01079
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00019 $0.00540
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00270

Security

Grade A, and why

igniteui-cli-template-anatomy scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Ignite UI CLI: Template Anatomy

Discovery

Templates are discovered by scanning folders. There is no registry file. A component appears in ig add / ig list when its folder contains a component index.ts and at least one variant folder with its own index.ts. groups.json only holds group descriptions; it changes only when a new group is introduced.

Framework Roots

Framework Project type Root Template base class Constants
Angular igx-ts packages/igx-templates/igx-ts/ packages/igx-templates/IgniteUIForAngularTemplate.ts packages/igx-templates/constants.ts
React igr-ts packages/cli/templates/react/igr-ts/ packages/cli/lib/templates/IgniteUIForReactTemplate.ts packages/cli/templates/react/igr-ts/constants.ts
Web Components igc-ts packages/cli/templates/webcomponents/igc-ts/ packages/cli/lib/templates/IgniteUIForWebComponentsTemplate.ts packages/cli/templates/webcomponents/igc-ts/constants.ts

jQuery (packages/cli/templates/jquery/js/) is legacy and Blazor (packages/cli/templates/blazor/igb/) has no component templates. Both are out of scope for the template workflows unless the user asks.

@igniteui/angular-templates is a separate npm package: Angular templates import only from packages/igx-templates/ and @igniteui/cli-core, never from packages/cli/templates/. A version Angular shares with Web Components (e.g. igniteui-webcomponents for wrapped components) is kept on the Angular side.

Component Template Layout

<root>/<component-id>/
  index.ts ← component: BaseComponent from @igniteui/cli-core
  <variant>/ ← usually "default"; grids use e.g. "basic", "grid-editing"
index.ts ← template: extends the framework's template base class
files/src/app/__path__/ ← files copied into the generated project
      __filePrefix__.<ext>

Component index.ts (same shape in all three frameworks):

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
