studio-block-author

studio-block-author is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from ikenga-hq/ikenga-pkgs. It costs 43 tokens per session (455 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A guided tool for creating a reusable Studio video building block, including its settings and a starter template. Studio blocks are individual scenes or elements such as hooks, transitions, calls to action, or sketches.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to add custom scene elements to Studio projects, with HTML templates for HyperFrames or scene files for sketches.
Why use it?
It removes the repetitive work of creating the required files and registering a new block by hand.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00043 $0.00455
Opus 5 $0.00022 $0.00228
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00091
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00046

Security

Grade A, and why

studio-block-author scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

studio-block-author

Scaffold a new reusable block atom.

What it does

  1. Asks for the block's kind (hook / beat / transition / narration_pattern / anchor_pack / sfx / music_preset / cta / sketch), id, name, and parameters.
  2. Writes a schema-valid block.json (validated against BlockSchema from @ikenga/studio-schema) with:
    • id, kind, name, description, template_path, parameters[], default_renderer, tags[], metadata{}.
  3. Writes the template:
    • HyperFrames blocksindex.html (the HF CLI hard-requires index.html as the composition entry; G-39). Minimal but real: a titled scene with a data-duration attribute and the block's parameters referenced as {{name}} placeholders / CSS vars.
    • Sketch blocks (kind: 'sketch') → a minimal valid .excalidraw JSON scene. BlockSchema.default_renderer accepts excalidraw directly since WP-32/G-68; targeting older schemas, set default_renderer: 'auto' and carry metadata.renderer_hint: 'excalidraw' instead (both forms remain valid).
  4. Registers via MCP block.create_custom, which writes into <project>/blocks/custom/<id>/.

Template rules (G-39)

  • HF entry file is index.html — never content.html or template.html.
  • data-duration (ms) on the scene element drives timing.
  • Keep it minimal but renderable — a real HF input, not a polished design.

Usage

/studio-block-author
# → kind? id? params? → block.json + index.html (or .excalidraw) → block.create_custom

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
