codesage: Skill for Claude Code

.agents/skills/release/SKILL.md

release is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from iliaal/codesage. It costs 39 tokens per session (281 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A repository-specific release procedure for publishing a CodeSage version using its documented checks and interactive release script.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when releasing CodeSage with a supplied X.Y.Z version, including validation and confirmation steps.
Why use it?
Releases can fail when the wrong workflow, version, or authorization is used. This procedure defines the required audits, tests, tagging, and publishing safeguards.

Skill for Claude CodeCodex

Written for Claude Code and Codex: $ARGUMENTS substitution, but also agents/openai.yaml present. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents); mentions AGENTS.md; mentions Codex.

This is iliaal/codesage's own configuration. It tells Claude Code and Codex how to work on codesage itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything codesage configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00039 $0.00281
Opus 5.5 $0.00016 $0.00112
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00008 $0.00056
Haiku 4.5 $0.00004 $0.00028

Security

Grade A, and why

release scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 1mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Read the release workflow in full and follow it from the repository root. This tracked workflow is shared by Claude and Codex; do not maintain a second copy in a local command adapter.

Interpret $ARGUMENTS as the version supplied with $release, for example $release 0.27.0. It is a prompt argument, not an environment variable. If no version was supplied, ask for it before starting the release.

Use the available writing skill for the prose audit. Translate Claude tool references to Codex's native file, shell, and user-input tools, following AGENTS.md. Prefix shell commands with rtk; use rtk proxy when preserving gate output or interacting with the release script.

Run the script in a persistent terminal session when confirmation prompts are needed. Follow the shared workflow's existing-authorization rules and canonical sanity-check.sh --cuda gate. Use --yes only when both commit/tag and push are already authorized, and --include-approved-prose only for the approved prose being included in this release transaction.

Files

What ships with it

2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

release is a skill published in the GitHub repository iliaal/codesage (21 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 39 tokens to every session and 281 once invoked, about $0.0002 per session on Opus 5.5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-09.
