drawio-diagram

drawio-diagram is a skill for Codex from Immortalqx/my_codex_skills. It costs 103 tokens per session (2,768 once invoked), scanned B, original, MIT.

A workflow for creating editable research figures and conceptual diagrams in draw.io, a diagram-editing application, plus PNG exports. It includes checks for source assets, readability, and export quality.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to turn papers, posters, PDFs, slides, notes, or experiment materials into draw.io drafts and PNG figures, reusing useful images, plots, or tables.
Why use it?
Research visuals often need to remain editable while also being clear in papers, posters, or presentations. The workflow helps catch missing assets, unreadable layouts, and failed exports.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00103 $0.02768
Opus 5 $0.00051 $0.01384
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.00554
Haiku 4.5 $0.00010 $0.00277

Security

Grade B, and why

drawio-diagram scanned grade B with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.

The scan reads SKILL.md. This mod also ships 6 executable files (scripts/export_drawio.ps1, scripts/export_drawio.sh, scripts/find_drawio.ps1, …), listed below but not scanned — reading those needs a real analyzer, not pattern matching.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Asks for rootmediumPrivilege escalation

A mod that escalates privileges can change anything on the machine, not only the project.

Draw.io Research Figure Pipeline

Purpose

This skill produces research visuals as a single deliverable:

  1. An editable, readable .drawio draft plus one PNG export that passes strict visual QA. SVG/PDF are not exported (they cause unpredictable hangs in headless drawio).

The draw.io draft is not disposable. It must be good enough for the user to keep editing directly in draw.io and to use as a paper or poster figure on its own.

Non-Negotiable Gates

Do not declare a figure ready until all gates pass:

  1. Asset gate: If the task is based on a paper, poster, PDF, slides, Markdown notes, or experiment folder, inspect available figures/images/tables first and reuse useful visual assets instead of redrawing everything from scratch. This is mandatory, not optional.
  2. Editable draft gate: Produce a .drawio that is meaningful and editable by itself. The user must be able to continue editing it in draw.io.
  3. Discovery gate: Verify the drawio CLI is installed and locatable on this host. If not found, run the discovery script and surface install instructions (do not silently fail).
  4. Export gate: Export PNG from the .drawio with a hard 60s timeout. SVG/PDF exports are intentionally skipped — headless drawio frequently hangs on those, and the PNG is sufficient for visual QA.
  5. Visual QA gate: Open the exported PNG and inspect it visually. If text is clipped, occluded, distorted, overlapped, unreadable, misaligned, too small, or blocked by icons/shapes, fix the .drawio, re-export, and inspect again.
  6. No-blind-export gate: Never say the PNG is ready just because files exist. The visual preview must be checked.

If any gate fails, repair the draw.io draft first. Do not declare the figure ready.

For research posters and paper figures, the asset gate must produce an asset_manifest.md before drawing begins. If relevant visual assets exist but are not used, qa_notes.md must explain why each was rejected.

Privacy Rule

Never store API keys, tokens, auth JSON contents, private URLs, or user secrets inside the skill or generated figure files. Scripts may read credentials at runtime from environment variables or existing local Codex auth files, but must not print them.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

drawio-diagram is a skill published in the GitHub repository Immortalqx/my_codex_skills (52 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 103 tokens to every session and 2,768 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it B with 1 finding (asks for root). No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
