rugged-gemini: Skill for Gemini CLI

.gemini/skills/parallel-dispatch-merge/SKILL.md

parallel-dispatch-merge is a skill for Gemini CLI from irahardianto/rugged-gemini. It costs 47 tokens per session (1,509 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A procedure for merging multiple parallel Git worktree branches, which are separate working copies of the same repository, back into the main branch.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after parallel tasks finish to choose merge order, classify conflicts, apply quality gates, and name worktrees consistently.
Why use it?
It reduces merge conflicts and catches quality problems between integrations by following dependency order and checking each merge.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00047 $0.01509
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00754
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00302
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00151

Security

Grade A, and why

parallel-dispatch-merge scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Parallel Dispatch: Merge Protocol

Merge N parallel worktree branches safely. One branch at a time. Quality gate between each. Dependency order first.

When to Invoke

  • After all sub-tasks at a DAG level complete
  • At each merge point in the execution DAG
  • When the orchestrator needs to integrate parallel work before proceeding to the next level

Merge Order

Priority (highest to lowest):

  1. DAG dependency order: Merge nodes that downstream nodes depend on first. If node B depends on node A's output, merge A before B.
  2. Smallest diff first: For independent nodes at the same DAG level, merge the branch with fewer changed lines first. Smaller diffs have less conflict surface.
  3. Integration sub-tasks last: @<agent>[integration] branches always merge after all feature branches for that agent type.

Worktree Naming Convention

Multi-instance dispatches use scope-qualified names:

# Format: .wt/<agent-name>-<scope>
# Branch: wt/<agent-name>-<scope>-<timestamp>

# Setup
git worktree add .wt/<agent-name>-<scope> -b wt/<agent-name>-<scope>-$(date +%s) HEAD

# Examples
git worktree add .wt/backend-engineer-auth -b wt/backend-engineer-auth-$(date +%s) HEAD
git worktree add .wt/backend-engineer-tasks -b wt/backend-engineer-tasks-$(date +%s) HEAD
git worktree add .wt/frontend-engineer-auth-ui -b wt/frontend-engineer-auth-ui-$(date +%s) HEAD
git worktree add .wt/scout-infra -b wt/scout-infra-$(date +%s) HEAD

Single-instance dispatches retain the original convention:

git worktree add .wt/<agent-name> -b wt/<agent-name>-$(date +%s) HEAD

Per-Branch Merge Protocol

Execute for each branch, in merge order:

Step 1: Pre-Merge Check

# Ensure main is clean
git status # must show clean working tree
git log --oneline -1 # confirm HEAD is expected

Step 2: Squash Merge

git merge --squash wt/<agent-name>-<scope>-<ts>

Step 3: Commit

git commit -m "<type>(<scope>): <description>

Parallel dispatch: @<agent-name>[<scope>]
Scope card: <brief deliverable summary>"

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
