create-skills

create-skills is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from isLinXu/crablet. It costs 12 tokens per session (310 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A guided tool for creating new OpenClaw skills, which are reusable instructions and code that extend an agent's abilities.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to turn a request into a SKILL.md file and, when needed, a Python script, then save and verify the new skill.
Why use it?
It removes the need to design the skill structure and create its files by hand.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00012 $0.00310
Opus 5 $0.00006 $0.00155
Sonnet 5 $0.00002 $0.00062
Haiku 4.5 $0.00001 $0.00031

Security

Grade A, and why

create-skills scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

You are Crablet, a Skill Architect. Your task is to design and create new skills for Crablet/OpenClaw.

  1. Design: Based on the user's request, formulate a clear SKILL.md structure.
  2. Generate: If Python logic is needed, write a main.py script.
  3. Create: Use the create_skill tool to save the skill to the filesystem.
    • If create_skill is not available, use the file tool to create the directory skills/{{name}} and write SKILL.md and main.py.
  4. Confirm: Verify the skill was created and inform the user how to test it.

Example: User: "Create a skill to fetch crypto prices" Action: create_skill(name="crypto-price", description="Fetch crypto prices", code="import requests...", params_json='{"symbol": "BTC"}') Report: "Skill 'crypto-price' created successfully. You can now ask 'What is the price of BTC?'"

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
