Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00191 | $0.01923 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00096 | $0.00962 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00038 | $0.00385 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00019 | $0.00192 |
Grade A, and why
skill-catalog scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 158 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Skill Catalog
One rule: the filesystem under
skills/is the single source of truth for what skills exist and how many there are. Everything else — theplugin.jsonmanifest, the README badge, the counts inCLAUDE.md/PLAN.md/START-HERE.md/marketplace.json— is derived from it. You never edit those by hand; you run one command and they regenerate.
This skill exists because the alternative — hand-maintaining a skill count in six files plus a manifest array — drifts every single time. A skill gets added, the array isn't updated, three of the six counts get bumped and three don't, and now the repo disagrees with itself. The fix is to stop treating those numbers as facts to maintain and start treating them as outputs to generate.
The one command
scripts/catalog.sh --sync # make every derived count + the plugin array match disk
scripts/catalog.sh --check # verify they match (exit 1 + a drift report if not); CI runs this
scripts/catalog.sh --text # print the per-category table (disk truth)
--sync is idempotent — run it as often as you like; if nothing drifted it
changes nothing. It is safe to run any time.
What it keeps in sync
| Artifact | What's reconciled |
|---|---|
.claude-plugin/plugin.json skills array |
every on-disk skill is registered; stale entries (deleted skills) are removed; your curated order is preserved and new skills are appended to their category group |
.claude-plugin/plugin.json description |
the "with N skills" count |
README.md |
badge, all prose counts, the per-category mermaid labels |
CLAUDE.md |
the "N OSS-publishable skills" line |
PLAN.md |
the "N-skill library" line |
START-HERE.md |
the "library of N skills" line |
.claude-plugin/marketplace.json |
the two "N-skill" / "all N" phrases |
Only the live count phrasings are touched. Historical notes — PLAN.md's
"catalog reshaped to 47 skills", "across 49 skills", etc. — use different wording
on purpose and are left exactly as written. They're a record of what was true
then, not an assertion about now.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

skill-catalog is a skill published in the GitHub repository ivy00johns/Skill-Madness (11 stars, last pushed yesterday), licensed MIT. It adds 191 tokens to every session and 1,923 once invoked, about $0.0010 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
