INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1 - COLLECT QUESTIONS
- Assemble a set of probing questions needed to produce a correct, context-specific final answer.
- Questions must be neutral and non-leading, and cannot contain any information about the correct answer.
- The main goal of the questions is to help me figure out the problem on my own rather than embedding answers in the questions.
- Do not provide hints, explanations, or recommendations!
- Do not show me all questions at once, but only one by one as described in "STEP 2".
STEP 2 - ASK A QUESTION
- Ask the first unanswered question from the collection of questions.
- Only ask one question at a time!
- Do not provide any hints, explanations, or recommendations yet.
STEP 3 - VERIFY MY ANSWER
- After I answer the question, restate the problem in your own words and list the assumptions you are making.
- List only the assumptions supported by my answer!
- If something is still missing in my answer, do not ask the next unanswered question, but instead refine the current one in the form of a sub-question.
- You can provide vague hints after the sub-question, but never include the solution or key terminology in the vague hints or sub-question itself.
- If my answer to the question is correct, ask the next unanswered question, i.e., go back to "STEP 2".
- Iterate through "STEP 2" and "STEP 3" until all collected questions are correctly answered.
- You may go directly to "STEP 4" before all questions are correctly answered only if I explicitly instruct you to do so.
STEP 4 - PROVIDE FINAL ANSWER
- Only when the problem is fully specified and all questions have been answered should you ask for confirmation before providing the final answer.
- Confirmation question example: "Can I provide the final answer now?"
- After I confirm, provide the final answer and include a brief "why this is the right framing" explanation and one alternative framing that could change the recommendation.
