docs-baseline-loading

docs-baseline-loading is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from J-Pster/Psters_AI_Workflow. It costs 16 tokens per session (452 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A project-startup check that loads required documentation before implementation work begins. The baseline includes documents about infrastructure, architecture, integrations, environments, and project terminology.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it before specified implementation workflows or when starting work in a project whose documentation may be missing or stale; it can also create required documentation files with minimum sections.
Why use it?
It helps developers understand the existing project before changing code and exposes missing or outdated documentation early.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00016 $0.00452
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00226
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00090
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00045

Measured 6d ago against content hash f711d7b13097, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-06, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

docs-baseline-loading scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Docs Baseline Loading

Use this skill before implementation commands to guarantee the project docs baseline is present, readable, and aligned.

Trigger conditions

  • Running /pwf-work, /pwf-work-plan, /pwf-work-light, or /pwf-work-tdd.
  • Starting implementation in a project with missing or stale docs.

Mandatory baseline docs

  • docs/infrastructure.md
  • docs/architecture.md
  • docs/integrations.md
  • docs/environments.md
  • docs/glossary.md

Read these before coding.

Optional but high-value context docs

  • docs/solutions/patterns/critical-patterns.md (if exists)
  • docs/modules/<module>.md when backend module scope is touched
  • docs/features/<feature>.md when frontend feature scope is touched
  • docs/lambdas/<repo>.md when Lambda scope is touched
  • docs/runbooks/README.md when operational/deploy behavior is touched

If baseline docs are missing

Create missing files immediately before implementation.

Required minimum sections

docs/infrastructure.md:

  • Infrastructure Overview
  • Environments
  • Core Services and Dependencies
  • Deployment and Operations
  • Known Constraints and Risks

docs/architecture.md:

  • System Overview
  • Technology Stack
  • Module and Service Boundaries
  • Data and Request Flows
  • Architecture Invariants

docs/integrations.md:

  • Integration Catalog
  • Authentication and Access
  • Contracts and Data Flows
  • Failure Modes and Retries
  • Ownership

docs/environments.md:

  • Environment Matrix
  • Configuration and Secrets Boundaries
  • Deployment Differences
  • Operational Access

docs/glossary.md:

  • Domain Terms
  • Technical Terms and Acronyms
  • Naming Conventions

Constraints

  • Do not create duplicate variants of baseline docs.
  • Update canonical docs in place.
  • Keep docs project-specific and operational (no filler).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

docs-baseline-loading is a skill published in the GitHub repository J-Pster/Psters_AI_Workflow (290 stars, last pushed 5mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 16 tokens to every session and 452 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
