schedule-social-post

schedule-social-post is a skill for Claude Code from JackVitick/socialync-mcp. It costs 58 tokens per session (1,024 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A tool for drafting, approving, scheduling, or publishing posts through Socialync across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Threads, and Bluesky. It validates the planned post and checks connected accounts and posting limits first.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to create a post, publish it immediately, schedule it for later, or send the same content to multiple connected platforms after checking account access, quotas, and platform requirements.
Why use it?
It gives a controlled workflow for preparing and publishing cross-platform posts without scraping social websites or opening their web apps.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00058 $0.01024
Opus 5 $0.00029 $0.00512
Sonnet 5 $0.00012 $0.00205
Haiku 4.5 $0.00006 $0.00102

Security

Grade A, and why

schedule-social-post scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 9d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

How it starts

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 67 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Schedule or publish a Socialync post

Use the Socialync MCP server. Do not scrape social sites or open platform web apps to post.

Auth and first calls

The server is hosted at https://mcp.socialync.io/mcp. Auth is OAuth in the browser (Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT) or a Bearer API key from https://www.socialync.io/api-keys for clients that cannot open a browser (Grok Bot). If tools fail with auth errors, tell the user to reconnect Socialync in their client's MCP settings.

Before drafting:

  1. list_profiles: every write takes profileId. Never assume the default.
  2. list_connections on that profile: skip disconnected platforms and tell the user to reconnect in Socialync settings.
  3. check_quota: plan, remaining posts, per-platform daily caps, maxScheduleMonths. Call this before every batch.
  4. validate_post with the exact arguments you are about to submit. It cannot post anything; it tells you what the platform would reject.

Limits

  • Free plan: 5 posts per calendar month, no credit card, MCP included. Paid plans start at $20/mo for unlimited posts and 5 connected accounts.
  • One publish counts as one post no matter how many platforms it targets.
  • 10 AI-created posts per day per brand on paid plans, 5 on free.
  • Read live numbers from check_quota. Do not hardcode.

Platform text limits (reject before submit):

Platform Limit Notes
X 280 Each post must stand alone
Bluesky 300 Hard reject above this
Threads 500 Max 5 links, enforced
LinkedIn 3,000 First 210 characters show
Instagram 2,200 First 125 shown
TikTok 2,200 Video only. Caption is secondary to the hook
YouTube 5,000 description Video only. Title required; keep titles under 60
Facebook effectively unlimited Engagement drops after ~80 characters in feed

Text and image posts publish immediately to Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Threads, and Bluesky. Video (including TikTok and YouTube) goes out as a scheduled post using media already in the Socialync library (mediaId from list_media) or a public video URL. YouTube needs a title. You cannot receive a video file in chat: tell the user to upload it in Socialync, then attach by mediaId.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
