tmcp-agent-handoff

tmcp-agent-handoff is a skill for Claude Code from jakyeamos/tmcp. It costs 35 tokens per session (298 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for preparing a handoff packet so another coding agent can continue work. The packet records current state, decisions, changed files, checks already run, blockers, open questions, and next commands.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when pausing work, transferring a project, or creating a durable continuation note with verified progress and next steps.
Why use it?
It prevents important project context from being lost between agents or work sessions. The required evidence makes the handoff more useful than a generic summary.

Skill for Claude Code

Written for Claude Code: shipped in a Claude Code plugin.

Needs its repository: it runs a file that does not travel with it, so clone the repository first. The line is node scripts/tmcp_launcher.mjs review-plan "Create an agent handoff and continuity packet for <project>" --project-path "<project-path>" --evidence-json '<json>.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00035 $0.00298
Opus 5 $0.00017 $0.00149
Sonnet 5 $0.00007 $0.00060
Haiku 4.5 $0.00003 $0.00030

Measured 10d ago against content hash 4aec33321750, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

tmcp-agent-handoff scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

TMCP Agent Handoff

Status: experimental. This workflow remains shipped and callable, but its public contract may change.

Use this skill when the user asks for a handoff, resume packet, continuity note, pause-work summary, next-agent context, or durable state packet.

Do not use it as a generic summary if no future worker needs to act on the output.

Workflow

  1. Gather evidence: current goal, git state, files changed, decisions made, commands run, test results, blockers, open questions, and next actions.
  2. Invoke tmcp_explain for the handoff packet when available.
  3. If a scored audit is needed, invoke expert_rubric_review_plan for handoff completeness.
  4. If MCP tools are unavailable, run from the TMCP plugin root:
node scripts/tmcp_launcher.mjs review-plan "Create an agent handoff and continuity packet for <project>" --project-path "<project-path>" --evidence-json '<json>' --write-artifacts

Output Contract

Produce or cite:

  • Current-state packet.
  • Decisions and constraints.
  • Changed/touched surfaces.
  • Verification already run.
  • Blockers, open questions, and next commands.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
