slipbox-knowledge-creation-batch

slipbox-knowledge-creation-batch is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from jamesfishwick/slipbox-mcp. It costs 66 tokens per session (306 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A batch workflow for turning a book, long article, or other large collection of text into connected Zettelkasten notes. A Zettelkasten is a personal knowledge system made of small, linked notes.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find themes, extract 5–10 atomic ideas, create and link notes, update structure notes, and check sources, terminology, and connections.
Why use it?
It helps break large sources into focused ideas while checking for duplicates and fitting new notes into the existing system. This avoids creating disconnected or repetitive notes.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00066 $0.00306
Opus 5 $0.00033 $0.00153
Sonnet 5 $0.00013 $0.00061
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00031

Measured 7d ago against content hash a599e64b5218, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

slipbox-knowledge-creation-batch scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Knowledge Creation (Batch)

I've attached a larger text/collection of information to process into my Zettelkasten. Please:

  1. First identify main themes and check my existing system for related notes and tags

  2. Extract 5-10 distinct atomic ideas from this material, organized into logical clusters

    • Eliminate any concepts that duplicate my existing notes
    • Process each validated concept into a note with appropriate type, title, tags, and content
    • Create connections between related notes in this batch
    • Connect each new note to relevant existing notes in my system
  3. Update or create structure notes as needed to integrate this batch of knowledge

  4. Verify quality for each note:

    • Each note contains a single focused concept
    • All sources are properly cited
    • Each note has meaningful connections
    • Terminology is consistent with my existing system

Provide a summary of all notes created, connections established, and structure notes updated, along with any areas you've identified for follow-up work.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
