In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review an Azure DevOps pull request for issues such as cross-site scripting, injection, personal-information leaks, and missing error codes.
Why use it?
It helps catch exposed personal information, unsafe input handling, and incomplete error responses before the change is merged. It also checks coverage of common web security risks listed by OWASP and CWE.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00130 $0.05121
Opus 5 $0.00065 $0.02560
Sonnet 5 $0.00026 $0.01024
Haiku 4.5 $0.00013 $0.00512

Security

Grade A, and why

ado-pr-code-review scanned grade A with 1 finding against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

⚙️ Required: install the diagnose skill

Install diagnose globally for your agent once, then it is available in all projects.

Claude (global)

mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/diagnose
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mattpocock/skills/main/skills/engineering/diagnose/SKILL.md \
  -o ~/.claude/skills/diagnose/SKILL.md
# Then add to ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md:
# - **diagnose** (`~/.claude/skills/diagnose/SKILL.md`) — bug diagnosis loop

GitHub Copilot (global)

mkdir -p ~/.copilot/skills/diagnose
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mattpocock/skills/main/skills/engineering/diagnose/SKILL.md \
  -o ~/.copilot/skills/diagnose/SKILL.md
# Then reference it from your global Copilot instructions file.

Via agent-settings import-skills.sh (project-local)

# If using this agent-settings repo, import it into a project:
.agent-settings/skills/import-skills.sh claude diagnose     # Claude / Copilot

The diagnose skill must be visible to your agent before proceeding.

Arguments

Token Meaning
an Azure DevOps PR URL required — the PR to review; parsed in Step 1

No URL → ask for one before doing anything else.

Step 1 — Parse the PR URL

Extract from the URL:

  • org — the Azure DevOps organization
  • project — the team project
  • repo — the repository name
  • prId — the pull request ID (integer)

URL patterns:

https://dev.azure.com/{org}/{project}/_git/{repo}/pullrequest/{prId}
https://{org}.visualstudio.com/{project}/_git/{repo}/pullrequest/{prId}

Step 2 — Fetch PR metadata and changed files

  1. Call mcp_azure_devops__repo_get_pull_request_by_id with {org}, {project}, {repo}, {prId}
  2. Call mcp_azure_devops__repo_get_pull_request_changes to get the list of changed files and their diffs
  3. For each changed file, call mcp_azure_devops__repo_get_file_content to get the full file content at the PR's source branch

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
