Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00121 | $0.04635 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00060 | $0.02318 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00024 | $0.00927 |

Grade A, and why
close-mechanics scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 401 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Close Mechanics
The tactical work of moving deals from interested to decided. Objection handling, deal psychology, time-to-close moves. Different from the broader sales coaching: this is what to say RIGHT NOW when a prospect raises a specific blocker, when a deal stalls at a specific stage, when the user is mid-conversation and needs the next sentence.
The skill provides reframes, not scripts. Each response is calibrated to the user's voice and their stated values (no pressure tactics, no manufactured urgency, no manipulation). The work is honest persuasion, where the prospect's best interest and the user's offer align.
Where they don't align, the skill says so. Sometimes the right close is "this isn't the right fit for you, here's a referral."
When this skill triggers
- "How do I handle 'I need to think about it'?"
- "They said it's too expensive, what do I say?"
- "Deal stalled at proposal stage, what now?"
- "They want a discount, how do I respond?"
- "What's the right way to ask for the close?"
- "They keep delaying, am I being too soft?"
- "Objection: [specific objection], help me respond"
- "How do I test if they're a real buyer or tire-kicker?"
NOT for: writing proposals (use proposal-writer), drafting cold outreach (use cold-email / outreach-drafter), running discovery (use discovery-call-prep).
The 10 common objections (with reframes)
Each objection includes: what it usually means, how to test the underlying issue, the reframe response in the user's voice, and the next-step plan if the reframe lands or doesn't.
Objection 1: "It's too expensive"
What it usually means: Three possible meanings, and they require different responses:
- "I don't see the value yet" (most common, fixable)
- "I literally can't afford it" (different conversation about scope or referral)
- "I'm price-shopping you" (qualify-out signal)
How to test:
"Real talk: when you say expensive, do you mean A) you don't see the value yet, B) it's a budget reality regardless of value, or C) you're comparing against someone cheaper?"
What ships with it
2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

close-mechanics is a skill published in the GitHub repository jaredlangleycc/nightshift-os (3 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 121 tokens to every session and 4,635 once invoked, about $0.0006 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
