Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00111 | $0.02890 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00056 | $0.01445 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00022 | $0.00578 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00011 | $0.00289 |
Grade A, and why
hard-call scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 246 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Hard Call
The decisions that change the next 6 months are usually decisions the user has been sitting with for weeks. Not because the math is unclear. Because the person knows what they want and has not let themselves admit it.
Hard-call holds the user through that. The skill does NOT recommend a path. It asks the question the user has been avoiding.
When this skill triggers
Fire when the user:
- Says "hard call"
- Says "tough decision"
- Says "I don't know what to do"
- Says "I keep going back and forth"
- Says "I'm stuck on this"
- Says "I keep avoiding this decision"
- Describes the same dilemma twice in different sessions without resolution
- Says "I should just decide" but doesn't
Do not fire when:
- The user wants
challenge(a plan is already chosen, they want stress-testing) - The decision is reversible within 30 days at low cost
- The user is in active execution and needs tactical help (route to a deliverable skill, hard-call is posture)
What makes a decision a hard call
Three properties. All three must be present.
-
Both paths are genuinely defensible. This is not a "which is right" question. Both options have real arguments.
-
The cost of being wrong is real. Money, time, reputation, family bandwidth. Not theoretical.
-
The user has been sitting with it. First-time mention does not qualify. Hard calls are decisions that have already failed to get made through normal coach-mode.
If only 1 or 2 properties are present, route to business-coach for normal coaching. If all 3 are present, hard-call posture is the right move.
The hard-call sequence
Six steps. The sequence is not linear. Hard calls require circling.
Step 1: Confirm this is a hard call
Ask the user: "Is this genuinely a hard call, or is this a normal decision that feels hard because you have not made it yet?"
If they say "normal," route to business-coach.
If they say "hard call," continue.
The framing matters. Half the time, naming it as "hard call" is enough to access the posture. The other half, it is not.
What ships with it
2 files beside SKILL.md in the same directory: the scripts, references and assets a skill reads on demand. Not counted in the per-session cost; read them before you install if any of them is executable.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

hard-call is a skill published in the GitHub repository jaredlangleycc/nightshift-os (3 stars, last pushed 1mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 111 tokens to every session and 2,890 once invoked, about $0.0006 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
