offer-design

offer-design is a skill for Claude Code from jaredlangleycc/nightshift-os. It costs 164 tokens per session (4,843 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A framework for turning a service or product idea into a clearly defined offer: what is delivered, to whom, within what time, scope, and price. It also addresses requests that could expand the agreed work.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps define services, package products, scope client engagements, handle scope creep, and decide what to charge for an engagement.
Why use it?
It removes vague promises and gives potential buyers a simple package they can understand and accept.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00164 $0.04843
Opus 5 $0.00082 $0.02422
Sonnet 5 $0.00033 $0.00969
Haiku 4.5 $0.00016 $0.00484

Security

Grade A, and why

offer-design scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Offer Design

The skill that turns "I do coaching" into a package a buyer can say yes to. An offer is more than a price. It is the contract between what the buyer wants and what the seller can deliver inside a real container of time, scope, and money.

Bad offers overpromise (12 months of unlimited access for $500) or underpromise (a vague "consulting engagement" with no timeline) or are unsellable because they ask the buyer to figure out scope themselves. Good offers fit on a single page, can be quoted in one sentence, and survive 30 days of real client work without the founder regretting the math.

When this skill triggers

  • "Design my offer"
  • "Package my service"
  • "What should I sell"
  • "Scope my engagement"
  • "Build my package"
  • "Structure my service"
  • "How do I price this engagement"
  • "I keep saying yes to scope creep"
  • "My clients keep asking for more"
  • "I do not know what to charge"
  • Auto-activated when assessment Section 6 (Offer + ICP) is incomplete or contains vague offer language
  • Auto-activated when assessment Goal Section 9 contains "first offer", "first paying client", "launch", "package my service"

NOT for: pricing the offer (use pricing-strategy after offer locks). NOT for: positioning (use positioning first). NOT for: writing the sales page (use copywriting after offer locks). NOT for: building the proposal document (use proposal-writer after offer locks).

What an offer is

An offer is a 6-part package. All 6 parts must be specific. Missing any part creates scope ambiguity, which kills close rate and creates client regret.

The 6 parts of an offer

  1. Deliverable. What the buyer receives.
  2. Scope. What is included AND what is explicitly NOT included.
  3. Timeline. When work starts, milestones, and end date.
  4. Price + structure. Total price, payment terms, refund policy.
  5. Guarantee. What the seller promises and what happens if it does not happen.
  6. The "not for you" line. Who should NOT buy this offer.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
