goodvibes: Skill for Claude Code

.claude/skills/goodvibes-hygiene/SKILL.md

goodvibes-hygiene is a skill for Claude Code from jgiox/goodvibes. It costs 117 tokens per session (372 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A code-minimalism audit that checks either recent changes or the whole code repository for unnecessary complexity. It uses Ponytail review commands, which must be installed separately.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to review a current code change for over-engineering or scan the entire repository and rank the biggest simplifications.
Why use it?
It helps identify code that can be deleted or simplified before extra abstractions make the project harder to maintain.

This is jgiox/goodvibes's own configuration. It tells Claude Code how to work on goodvibes itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything goodvibes configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00117 $0.00372
Opus 5 $0.00059 $0.00186
Sonnet 5 $0.00023 $0.00074
Haiku 4.5 $0.00012 $0.00037

Measured 10d ago against content hash c06b9882ab81, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-09-10, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

goodvibes-hygiene scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 10d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

goodvibes hygiene

Ponytail rules are already always-on in your CLAUDE.md. These commands add explicit on-demand audits.

Setup

Ponytail commands require the ponytail plugin. Install it in Claude Code:

/plugin marketplace add DietrichGebert/ponytail
/plugin install ponytail@ponytail

(Desktop app: Customize → + by personal plugins → Create plugin → Add from repository → enter https://github.com/DietrichGebert/ponytail)

Commands

  • /ponytail-review — Review the current diff for over-engineering. One line per finding: location, what to cut, what replaces it.
  • /ponytail-audit — Scan the entire repo for unnecessary complexity. Ranked list, biggest cut first.

What the always-on rules already do

Every response already applies the ponytail decision ladder (from your CLAUDE.md): simplest solution that works, stdlib before custom code, deletion before addition. The commands above are for explicit audit reports — use them when you want a structured review, not just session behavior.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
