posttask

A required end-of-task check that runs project tests and build commands, then records whether each check passed, failed, or was not applicable.

In plain words
What is it for?
It helps validate Java and Next.js/React projects, including full Spring application startup checks for touched Java subprojects, and report command results.
Why use it?
It prevents work from being marked complete without evidence that the code still works. It also treats a failed application startup check as a blocker.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00016 $0.00359
Opus 5 $0.00008 $0.00179
Sonnet 5 $0.00003 $0.00072
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00036

Measured yesterday against content hash bb36be172a2a, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

posttask scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured yesterday.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Posttask

Mandatory Gate

No task is complete without posttask evidence.

Stack Command Sets

Java repositories:

  • ./mvnw test
  • ./mvnw verify

Next/React repositories:

  • yarn lint
  • yarn build
  • yarn test (when script exists)

Application Context Smoke Test (rule 31-application-context-smoke-test.mdc)

For every apps/* Java subproject touched:

  1. Verify that ApplicationContextSmokeTest.java exists with @SpringBootTest + Testcontainers. A plain JUnit test that instantiates DTOs is NOT a smoke test — it must boot the full Spring context.
  2. Run ./mvnw test -Dtest="ApplicationContextSmokeTest" explicitly.
  3. If missing or fake → create a real smoke test before proceeding (see rule 31 for pattern).
  4. If the smoke test failsBLOCKER. Diagnose and fix the application (NOT the test). The application context must start successfully with all beans wired.

Reporting Contract

For each command report:

  • command
  • result (pass, fail, n/a)
  • concise evidence/failure summary

Blocker Policy

  • any failed mandatory check blocks completion
  • smoke test failure is a BLOCKER — fix the application, not the test
  • missing tooling must be explicit (binary not found)
  • failed checks cannot be hidden in aggregate summary

Required Output

  • validation evidence table (must include smoke test result)
  • explicit blocker list or no-blocker statement
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

posttask is a skill published in the GitHub repository Joaonic/agentkit (2 stars, last pushed 3mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 16 tokens to every session and 359 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
