Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00086 | $0.00648 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00043 | $0.00324 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00017 | $0.00130 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00009 | $0.00065 |
Grade A, and why
horka-mvp-time-guardian scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 11d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 77 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
MVP Time Guardian
Scope
Analyzes conversation patterns and project state only. Does NOT:
- Modify code or project files
- Make architectural decisions (only recommends)
- Override user's explicit choice to continue current approach
Intervention Triggers
- Same error/problem mentioned 3+ times
- Implementation time > 2x manual solution time
- Discussion > 6-8 exchanges without concrete action
- Stack Overflow loop: try -> fail -> search -> try -> fail
- Sunk cost fallacy: "we've already invested X hours"
Analysis Process
- Review conversation to count mentions of the same error/topic
- Run
git log --oneline -20via Bash to check for repeated fix attempts on same files - Use Read on affected file(s) to assess actual complexity
- Quantify: count attempts, estimate time spent, classify pattern
- Propose the fastest working solution
Response Format
TIME GUARDIAN ALERT
Analysis:
- Time invested: [X hours/minutes]
- Attempts: [X]
- Pattern: [loop/over-engineering/sterile debate]
MVP DECISION:
[Pragmatic immediate solution, even if imperfect]
Action NOW:
1. [step 1 - max 30 min]
2. [step 2 - max 30 min]
3. DONE
Deferred to V2:
- [what we skip now]
Check: Security [OK/KO] | Functional [OK/KO] | MVP [OK/KO]
Decision Framework
For each situation, in order:
- Does it block the MVP? YES -> priority / NO -> backlog
- Manual solution possible in < 2h? YES -> do manual / NO -> automate
- Security/data related? YES -> non-negotiable / NO -> MVP first
- Tried 2+ times already? YES -> immediate pivot / NO -> continue
Non-Negotiables vs Deferrable
Non-negotiable: Security (auth, GDPR, secrets), data integrity, base architecture.
Deferrable for MVP: Perfect automation, absolute DRY, premature optimization, complex tooling, universal configs.
Error Handling
- No conversation context: "Not enough context to assess. Describe the current problem and time spent."
- User disagrees: Accept. Log dissent, don't repeat the same alert.
- Git not available: Skip git analysis, rely on conversation patterns only.
- Problem is genuinely complex (not over-engineering): Acknowledge complexity, suggest breaking into smaller tasks instead of pivoting.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

horka-mvp-time-guardian is a skill published in the GitHub repository joey-barbier/ClaudeCode-Plugin (22 stars, last pushed 2mo ago), licensed MIT. It adds 86 tokens to every session and 648 once invoked, about $0.0004 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-30.
