micropython-stubs: Skill for Codex

.agents/skills/beads/SKILL.md

beads is a skill for Codex from Josverl/micropython-stubs. It costs 74 tokens per session (662 once invoked), scanned A, a copy of beads, MIT.

A project task-tracking skill for Beads, a system that stores tasks, dependencies, blockers, and handoff information for shared work.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to find available tasks, claim work, inspect blockers, create follow-up tasks, and close completed work.
Why use it?
It keeps important project status in a durable shared place instead of leaving it only in one agent conversation or personal notes.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: agents/openai.yaml present. Also seen: installed under .agents/ (shared by several agents).

This is Josverl/micropython-stubs's own configuration. It tells Codex how to work on micropython-stubs itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything micropython-stubs configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00074 $0.00662
Opus 5.5 $0.00030 $0.00265
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00015 $0.00132
Haiku 4.5 $0.00007 $0.00066

Security

Grade A, and why

beads scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 17d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 96 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.

Beads

Use Beads as the shared project task system. Local plans, scratch files, and personal memories are useful, but they are not the durable source of truth for project work.

First Step

Run:

bd prime

If that prints nothing, check whether the repository has an active Beads workspace:

bd where

Preferred Route

Use the bd CLI when shell access is available. It is the most compact and direct Beads interface.

Repository Sync Policy

This repository authorizes agents to synchronize Beads-only Dolt history. It does not authorize source Git commits, pulls, or pushes.

  1. Run bd dolt pull before relying on issue status or mutating Beads.
  2. Search for an existing issue before creating a replacement. Continue the original issue where possible; use bd supersede <old> --with <new> for a duplicate that already exists.
  3. After any successful Beads mutation, run bd dolt push before handoff.
  4. Never force a Dolt push. Stop and report any pull, merge, or push conflict.

Git branch merges and rebases do not synchronize Beads. Cross-machine Beads state is carried by the Dolt remote under refs/dolt/data.

Core CLI Workflow

  1. Find work:
bd ready
bd list --status=open
bd list --status=in_progress
  1. Inspect before editing:
bd show <id>
  1. Claim work atomically:
bd update <id> --claim
  1. Create durable follow-up work when implementation reveals new tasks:
bd create "Short title" --description="Why this exists and what needs to be done" --type=task --priority=2
  1. Close completed work:
bd close <id> --reason="Completed"

What Belongs In Beads

Use Beads for:

  • shared project tasks
  • blockers and dependencies
  • discovered follow-up work
  • work that must survive thread reset, compaction, or handoff
  • status that another person or agent should be able to resume

Use agent-local planning tools only for the current turn's execution checklist. Do not treat them as shared project state.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
