Getting it into your agent
One page per mod, every tool's command on it. A separate URL per tool would split the same page into five that compete with each other.

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.
| Model | Per session | Once invoked |
|---|---|---|
| Fable 5.1 | $0.00091 | $0.03000 |
| Opus 5 | $0.00046 | $0.01500 |
| Sonnet 5 | $0.00018 | $0.00600 |
| Haiku 4.5 | $0.00009 | $0.00300 |
Grade A, and why
alibaba-networking-and-edge scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 12d ago.
A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.
Nothing flagged
None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.
How it starts
The opening of the file, as written. The whole thing — 174 lines — stays where its author put it; the contents beside it link to each section on GitHub.
Alibaba Networking and Edge
When to use
- Designing a new VPC or extending an existing one into additional zones.
- Exposing an internal service to the internet or to another VPC / region.
- Connecting multiple VPCs across regions or to on-premises with CEN.
- Tuning TLS, WAF, CDN, or DDoS posture at the edge.
- Auditing east-west Security Group rules for over-permissive access.
- Tracking down NAT Gateway data-processing charges or cross-zone traffic costs.
VPC layout — the production default
- One VPC per environment per region (dev / stage / prod). A single account typically holds the China-region VPC and a separate account holds the International-region VPC — they cannot be peered or joined in the same CEN across the China/International boundary.
- CIDR:
/16per VPC;/19or/20per VSwitch. Leave non-overlapping address space for future CEN attachment. - VSwitches per zone, across at least 2 availability zones (3 where the region supports it):
publiczone VSwitches — only for ALB / NLB / NAT Gateway.privatezone VSwitches — application compute (ECS, ACK pods, FC VPC mode).isolatedzone VSwitches — databases, internal-only services (RDS, Redis, PolarDB).
- IPv6: enable at VPC creation if any international-facing service or IPv6-mandated workload is planned. Retrofitting IPv6 to an existing VPC is possible but disruptive.
- VPC Flow Log: enable for all production VPCs; ship to SLS (Simple Log Service) for query. At minimum capture
REJECTflows; enableALLfor forensics-ready accounts.
VSwitch and Security Group discipline
- Security Groups: stateful; the primary east-west control. Reference groups by Group ID in inbound rules (
sg-app-tier→sg-db-tier:3306); never use raw CIDR for intra-VPC references. - An ENI (Elastic Network Interface) can hold up to 5 Security Groups. Bind roles precisely (web, app, db, cache) rather than one catch-all group.
- No
0.0.0.0/0inbound on any Security Group protecting a database, cache, or application instance. - No
0.0.0.0/0inbound on port 22: use Cloud Assistant for shell access; disable SSH inbound entirely. - Route tables: one custom route table per subnet tier; avoid the default route table for anything other than the public VSwitch tier.
What this file has done since we first saw it
Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

alibaba-networking-and-edge is a skill published in the GitHub repository jsgerman-oss/blackrim-nimbus-skills (8 stars, last pushed 26d ago), licensed MIT. It adds 91 tokens to every session and 3,000 once invoked, about $0.0005 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
