oh-my-codex: Skill for Codex

.codex/skills/swarm/SKILL.md

swarm is a skill for Codex from junghwaYang/oh-my-codex. It costs 0 tokens per session (221 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A compatibility mode for an older multi-agent command that now routes work through the newer Team skill.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it when maintaining older commands such as assigning several agents to fix TypeScript errors or implement a dashboard. New projects should use Team directly.
Why use it?
It lets existing swarm commands continue to work while using Team's staged execution, coordination, verification, and fix loops.

Skill for Codex

Written for Codex: installed under .codex/.

This is junghwaYang/oh-my-codex's own configuration. It tells Codex how to work on oh-my-codex itself, so it is not a mod to install elsewhere. Copy it as a starting point and replace the rules that are about this project. Everything oh-my-codex configures →

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00000 $0.00221
Opus 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00088
Sonnet 5.5 $0.00000 $0.00044
Haiku 4.5 $0.00000 $0.00022

Measured 2mo ago against content hash 27a5f89ec506, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-10-07, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

swarm scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 2mo ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

Swarm Skill

Legacy multi-agent mode (routes to Team).

Note

As of v1.0, swarm is a compatibility layer that routes to the team skill. Use team directly for new projects.

Legacy Syntax

swarm 5 agents: fix all TypeScript errors
swarm 3: implement the dashboard

Equivalent Team Commands

team 5:executor fix all TypeScript errors
team 3:mixed implement the dashboard

Why Swarm → Team?

Team provides:

  • Staged pipeline execution
  • Better coordination
  • Built-in verification
  • Fix loops

Swarm was simpler parallel execution without these benefits.

Migration

Replace:

swarm N agents: {task}

With:

team N:executor {task}

Compatibility

Swarm syntax still works and is automatically converted:

  • swarm 5 agents → team 5:executor
  • swarm 3 → team 3:mixed
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

swarm is a skill published in the GitHub repository junghwaYang/oh-my-codex (5 stars, last pushed 8mo ago), licensed MIT. It costs nothing until one of its globs matches a file; then it loads 221 tokens. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-08-31.
