self-review

self-review is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from justomsharma/github-resume-assistant. It costs 46 tokens per session (365 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A final review checklist for the current local code changes before they are committed and pushed to a shared repository.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it after tests pass to inspect the actual diff, check edge cases and external-call handling, scan for credentials, verify scope, and summarize a clean handoff.
Why use it?
It helps catch bugs, accidental extra changes, exposed secrets, missing tests, and violations of the project's coding rules.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5 $0.00046 $0.00365
Opus 5 $0.00023 $0.00182
Sonnet 5 $0.00009 $0.00073
Haiku 4.5 $0.00005 $0.00036

Measured 4d ago against content hash dad61e96e75b, method: parsed. Prices are Anthropic first-party input rates as of 2026-08-30, from the pricing page.

Security

Grade A, and why

self-review scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 4d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

self-review

Review the working diff like a skeptical reviewer who did NOT write it. This is the last check before committing.

Look at the actual diff

git status
git diff

Review checklist (in order)

  1. Correctness — Does it do what was intended? Trace the logic. Any off-by-one, null case, or missed branch? Especially: the empty-GitHub path.
  2. Secrets — Scan every changed line. No GITHUB_TOKEN, ANTHROPIC_API_KEY, or any key/credential. .env must not be staged.
  3. Scope — Only the intended files changed? No stray edits, no scope creep beyond the approved /plan-first approach or the ROADMAP item?
  4. Practices (CODING_PRACTICES.md) — Types present? Error handling on external calls? core/ free of MCP imports? No bare except, no dead code, no debug prints?
  5. Tests (TESTING.md) — Are the changes actually covered? External calls mocked?

Outcome

  • If issues found: fix them now (or return to /implement / /plan-first if the problem is deeper), then re-review.
  • If clean: summarize what changed in 2–3 lines for the commit/PR.

Handoff

Once the diff is clean → hand off to /commit-push.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
