context-and-memory-ops

context-and-memory-ops is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from jxoesneon/Ciel. It costs 23 tokens per session (494 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A framework for preserving project knowledge, writing style, and guided code walkthroughs between sessions. It uses saved project state, voice examples, and file-based tours for specific readers.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to save and resume session context, model a project's writing voice, and document code for new joiners, security reviewers, or architects.
Why use it?
It prevents an agent from starting without earlier decisions, goals, or project conventions. It also makes explanations more useful to people with different roles.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00023 $0.00494
Opus 5 $0.00012 $0.00247
Sonnet 5 $0.00005 $0.00099
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00049

Security

Grade A, and why

context-and-memory-ops scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 5d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

CIEL ADAPTATION: Context & Memory (Persistence)

This skill formalizes the management of project-specific knowledge and stylistic identity. it prioritizes high-fidelity recall and guided onboarding.

Context Keeper (ck)

  1. Session State: Use /ck:save at the end of every high-value session.
  2. Briefing: Use /ck:resume at start to load goals, decisions, and blockers.
  3. Consistency: Ensure context.json is the single source of truth for project state.

Brand Voice Modeling

  • Extraction: Gather 5-20 original samples (X posts, memos, code comments).
  • Priorities: Mechanisms and receipts beat adjectives. Direct, concrete, and compressed.
  • Hard Bans: Delete "fake curiosity," "excited to share," and LinkedIn-style "thought leader" cadence.

Code Tours (.tour)

  • Persona Target: Write for specific readers (new-joiner, security-reviewer, architect).
  • Anchors: Use real file paths and line numbers. Prefer pattern-based anchors for volatile files.
  • SMIG Format: Description must answer: Situation, Mechanism, Implication, and Gotcha.

Anti-Patterns

  • Amnesiac Start: Starting a new session without resuming the previous context.
  • Hallucinated Anchors: Committing a .tour file with guessed line numbers.
  • Vibe Modeling: Deriving a voice from 2 samples instead of a representative set.
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
