mempalace-rs

mempalace-rs is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from jxoesneon/Ciel. It costs 20 tokens per session (615 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A local memory system for storing and finding information from conversations, codebases, and documents. It also keeps a knowledge graph of relationships and a dated diary of an agent's decisions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Mining project information into memory, searching related context, recording agent decisions, and querying time-bounded relationships.
Why use it?
It reduces the need to reread large amounts of context and makes past facts, relationships, and decisions easier to retrieve later.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00020 $0.00615
Opus 5 $0.00010 $0.00308
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00123
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00061

Security

Grade A, and why

mempalace-rs scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 7d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

CIEL ADAPTATION: MemPalace-RS

This skill provides CIEL's high-performance, local-first memory stack and knowledge graph, powered by a production-grade Rust engine.

Integration Context

Adapted from ~/.gemini/skills/mempalace-rs/. This is the definitive memory layer for CIEL, achieving 30x token reduction through the AAAK V:3.2 compression protocol.

The Memory Stack (L0-L3)

  • L1 (IDENTITY): Core persona and active mission.
  • L1 (ESSENTIAL): Recency-biased, room-grouped events (AAAK compressed).
  • L2 (ON-DEMAND): Similarity-searched context via wing/room filters.
  • L3 (SEARCH): Raw semantic search over the entire palace.

Core Capabilities

1. Semantic Mining

Mine conversations, codebases, and documents into the palace using mempalace mine.

2. Knowledge Graph

Track temporal relationships (Subject -> Predicate -> Object) with validity intervals using mempalace_kg_add/query.

3. Agent Diary

Maintain a chronological audit trail of CIEL's decisions and reflections using mempalace_diary_write/read.

4. AAAK Compression

Utilize the Agent-to-Agent Knowledge (AAAK) dialect to compress large contexts into high-density tokens.

Orchestration Logic

1. Context Hydration

On every session start, the orchestration skill must call mempalace wakeup to hydrate the active context.

2. Persistence Gate

Every Council of Five decision must be recorded in the Knowledge Graph or Agent Diary to ensure long-term system alignment.

3. Retrieval-Augmented Deliberation

Before any high-stakes Council meeting, CIEL must search the palace for relevant historical precedents or related decisions.

Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.

mempalace-rs is a skill published in the GitHub repository jxoesneon/Ciel (1 stars, last pushed 3d ago), licensed Apache-2.0. It adds 20 tokens to every session and 615 once invoked, about $0.0001 per session on Opus 5. A static security scan graded it A with 0 findings. No closer match exists in the catalogue, so it is treated as the original; first seen 2026-09-03.
