remotion-video-creation

remotion-video-creation is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from jxoesneon/Ciel. It costs 18 tokens per session (454 once invoked), scanned A, original, Apache-2.0.

A set of practices for creating programmable videos with Remotion and React, where scenes, timing, captions, and animations are defined in code.

In plain words
What is it for?
It is for building video compositions, sequencing scenes, adding animated captions and overlays, isolating media assets, and checking asset compatibility.
Why use it?
It helps keep repeatable motion graphics and data-driven videos organized, compatible, and efficient to render.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00018 $0.00454
Opus 5 $0.00009 $0.00227
Sonnet 5 $0.00004 $0.00091
Haiku 4.5 $0.00002 $0.00045

Security

Grade A, and why

remotion-video-creation scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 8d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

What it actually says

CIEL ADAPTATION: Remotion Video (Programmable Media)

This skill formalizes the use of Remotion for creating videos through code. It is used for overlays, data visualizations, and repeatable motion graphics.

Architecture Guidelines

  • Composition Standard: Define fixed dimensions and frame rates in calculate-metadata.md.
  • Asset Isolation: Import images, fonts, and videos as isolated React components (Img, Video).
  • Sequencing: Use Sequence and Series for temporal control. Avoid raw setTimeout or setInterval.

Animation Principles

  • Interpolation: Use interpolate() with easing or spring curves for all property changes.
  • Shared Elements: Maintain visual continuity through shared element transitions across scenes.
  • Dynamic Captions: Implement TikTok-style captions with word highlighting via @remotion/captions.

Performance

  • Transformation-Only: Animate transform and opacity to avoid layout reflows.
  • Browser Decoding: Use can-decode.md to check asset compatibility before rendering.

Anti-Patterns

  • State-Heavy Compositions: Triggering heavy business logic during a render frame.
  • Fixed Durations: Hardcoding second-based durations instead of frame-based calculations.
  • CSS-Transitions: Using raw CSS transitions instead of Remotion's interpolate (breaks deterministic rendering).
Changes

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
