figma-bridge-design-to-code

figma-bridge-design-to-code is a skill for Claude Code, Codex from KaiUweHella/figma-bridge-mcp. It costs 107 tokens per session (2,191 once invoked), scanned A, original, MIT.

A workflow for turning a selected Figma design into code while following the existing project's framework, styles, components, and asset conventions.

In plain words
What is it for?
Use it to build a screen, frame, or component from Figma in an existing repository.
Why use it?
It reduces guesswork when matching a design to a codebase and helps keep the implementation aligned with both the visual design and the project's engineering rules.

Token cost

What it costs to keep this loaded

Counted locally with the o200k_base tokenizer, which is exact for GPT models; Claude uses its own tokenizer and its counts differ. Treat this as one consistent yardstick across the catalogue rather than a bill. Prices are per million input tokens.

ModelPer sessionOnce invoked
Fable 5.1 $0.00107 $0.02191
Opus 5 $0.00053 $0.01095
Sonnet 5 $0.00021 $0.00438
Haiku 4.5 $0.00011 $0.00219

Security

Grade A, and why

figma-bridge-design-to-code scanned grade A with 0 findings against 26 rules in 11 categories — prompt injection, anti-refusal, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, supply chain, agent snooping, system-prompt leakage, SSRF and excessive agency — measured 6d ago.

A static scan of the body, not an audit. Every finding is printed with the line that produced it so you can judge whether it matters here. A mod is markdown that instructs an agent; that is exactly why what it instructs is worth reading.

Nothing flagged

None of the 26 patterns this scan looks for appear in this file: no shell pipes, no recursive deletes, no credential paths, no hidden text, no instruction-override or anti-refusal phrasing, no agent-config snooping. That is not a guarantee, it is the absence of the things that are checkable.

Implement Figma as Code

Treat the Figma node as the visual contract and the target repository as the engineering contract. Match both: preserve the design exactly without replacing the project's framework, styling system, components, or conventions.

Pin the Figma Bridge transport

  • Use the tools from the server bundled with this skill: namespace figma-bridge, server id figma-bridge-mcp. Do not select a similarly named Figma MCP by name alone.
  • Start with this server's figma_status. Its result and every later result must identify _mcp: "figma-bridge-mcp".
  • A failed probe proves only that Figma Bridge transport is unavailable. It does not prove that Figma or another Figma MCP is unavailable.
  • Do not silently switch to another Figma MCP for a write. Name the unavailable transport and ask the user before changing tools or write semantics.

Establish the contracts

  1. Inspect the target repository before writing code. Identify its framework, styling approach, reusable components, tokens, asset conventions, scripts, and current working-tree changes.
  2. Resolve the exact Figma node and connected file. Ask for a node-specific URL only when neither the URL nor the current selection identifies one.
  3. If the repository contains figma-bridge.json or the target exposes a Design Entity, run figma_run ["link","context","<entity.id>"] before implementation. Stop on a reported conflict; never choose code or Figma as the winner implicitly.
  4. Call figma_reference with name: "workflow:design-to-code" once and follow the returned workflow. It is the canonical detailed guide for the installed Bridge version.
  5. For a web target that emits HTML plus custom CSS, SCSS, CSS Modules, styled-components, or equivalent authored styles, read references/web-css-html.md before implementation. It adapts the bundled Modern CSS & HTML guidance to this fidelity workflow. Do not load it for React Native or other non-web targets.

What this file has done since we first saw it

Hashed on every crawl. A supply-chain change to an agent config is a question of when, not whether, so the history is kept rather than the latest state alone.
